If you intend on breeding and her hips have not been checked she is not worth more then a few hundred and this is why. iIf you spend say 1500 on her not counting if there is a shipping fee, then you have her to the vet and have her hips x-rayed and well what do you know she has HD you are out a Crap load of money and have a dog you will have a hard time placing.    I would recommend doing a pre purcase hip x-ray.

Sounds like you got it worked out but I wondered if you any of her littermates were OFA'd?  That would at least give you a baseline as to what her OFA's might look like.  Good luck!

Vonkuenzer, I think you missed my posts about that. That was exactly my logic, and why I won't pay $1500 for her. However, as I said, they won't do a prepurchase xray. I offered them $500.

That combo has not thrown any bad hips so far; I believe it's been done a few times, but that doesn't mean her hips aren't trashed from running alongside a bicycle while being 15-20lbs overweight. Regardless of WHY her hips may be bad, if they're bad, I have a high drive pet with bad hips I need to place, and I'm out the money. Not a whole lot of demand for those, lol.

She's a half sister to one of my dogs. I don't want to jinx anything, but I'll post after I pick her up at the airport!

I would see what they want - she is in a boarding kennel right now, possibly headed to the pound?  Then right now they are spending money on her - maybe a lot of money.  Boarding dogs isn't cheap.  They would lose money taking her to the pound - maybe they just want a good home for h er.   I'd be willing to offer a "rescue price" for her, if you expect to get her papers free and clear for possible future breeding (when you would/could be making money on her) - or offer to take her with a contract for one puppy back (or money from puppy) if/when you bred her after all health tests/x-rays were done and she was deemed breedworthy - no puppy back if she wasn't.   Or, split the first litter if a first litter happens.  "make an offer" - then see what the owner has in mind and make your decision about how much she is worth to you.
