why not  explain the reasoning of confining a dog to an area that itself  is stressfull !let alone further confining it with a leash and then even more stress by forcing it to react in a bad situation!  When a police man chases an armed subject do you get pissed when he shoots at you?  Or do you justify the means by the result!/   Oh failure to answer is convicting!

Let me ask  the question in another way: the dog I mentioned was a nice dog, He was better dog than mine when I first saw him. they are one year apart. I watched the trainig approach and all I saw was prey, prey, prey, prey... never ever any pressure from the helper. I like to introduce pressure to my dogs when they are puppies (within a reason of course; hand thred, faceal things.. so on).
anyway this dog had nothing, he was so pumped up over the sleeve. Ii talked to the owner and I told him that this dog is EMPTY.. there is nothing.. I know I dont make sence but when I read a dog I say what I see.
He said: the dog is 22 months old is time for defence. and there they went. I watched and no matter how much the helper pushed.. the dog stayed in prey screamy high pich bark, never channeled. all was prey. Like he was not comfortable in going any other direction.
Could a dog be so "LOCKED" in prey that there is no way out? I have never really seen a dog that had so much potential to be so unwilling to actually fight.

Barb sorry I ma hijacking but I am staying on topic...

I fixed the top.. I am soo busted for not knowing the vocabulary... Thanks

So are you saying the whole purpose is to put the dog in defense because of the restricted area and lack of mobility! To force the dog into defense when it does not wish to go into defense!  A good way of creating a fear biter! do you really want a fear biter! that dog who when put into a defensive posture  is unsure and frightened is an accident you have created! Sure no need to comment ! Just confirming my conclusion!

Just answer the question please! No it is not about me its about you two faced hypocrites! Even when I ask a legitimate question all you can do is be the smart asses you are! Again what does it profitt a trainer to push a dog over the edge! You fail to answer because you have none!

Rymond please.... what the hell are you reading!

The dog will bite out of PREY but will ot fight.. he wil NOT FIGHT... If you trained a lot of dogs and had acces to many, many, many differnetly trained dogs you would eventually run into many, many problems.. I am consulting this one with somebody who had en and seen . many, many many differently trained dogs.. I would like Pragers imput on this one too.... or somebody who has trained dogs in other ways that just creating sleeve happy dogs.

This is a discussion about trainig, table defence not somebodies EGO trip.. I am curious as I never seen a dog that was Soo dry with genetics trying to tell him one thing, head another but trainig techniques yet another
