Schaferhundin.. I should have just let the dogs fight and tear each other up, right? Ever seen the results of a three or four dog fight? I have! Dogs get torn up and killed. My friend came home and found one of her bitches DEAD, because two got the one down and she had no chance. You want to get your hand in there and try to pull them apart? You're going to get bitten, for sure! Even if you can pull one of the dogs out, the others will be on it, quick. People get killed and severely mauled, trying to break up dog fights. This is a fact! The way I did it was safe.. Safe for me, and safe for the dogs. Even in the unlikely case that they would suffer any kind of head trauma (highly unlikely), dogs have an amazing ability to recover even from brain injuries.. But, believe me, I would never hit them this hard. I merely stunned them. And, this was a good forty years ago, or more! How far back do you want to go?

I am pretty sure I have you all pegged, now. I'd be VERY surprised if some or even all of you are not animal rights activists..the malice of these people exceeds everything I have ever seen.. But, it's actually in their training. Some of them are actually trained in confrontation, to get into peoples' faces and use intimidation and fear.

Now, if you ever happen to be there when there is a multi-dog fight, you can go ahead and reach into that snarling mass if you really want to.. I advise against it. I also think you should try to do SOMETHING to stop it, before there is serious injury to one of the dogs. But, if you insist, then just promise me you will have a friend video tape the event.. If you are a genius "dog whisperer", then we could all stand in awe of you and we might even learn by your example. If you get trashed, I for one might even consider that entertaining to see..

You go on an on about how it is everybody else's fault, even your own husband. What a shame that you are a part of the human race. It is comical how you want to call everyone here "animal rights activists". If properly caring for your dogs and not agreeing with you that neglecting them is okay, then you are probably correct that all of these people on this web site who abhor your very existence because of the way you,Janice Bartmess, treated those dogs, then yes, they are animal rights activists, but, what does that make you? It does not change one iota of what you did, and from what may be occurring again.

Your lies are easy to read through. You make ridiculous statements about your attorney wanting to sue animal control and the others who rescued those dogs from your evil clutches in "federal court". What federal jurisdictional issue arose that you would need to litigate in a federal court? The term "federal court" is so often misused by those who know nothing about how the court system operates. Just because you are "really upset" and think you have a "great case" or want to "punish someone really bad" it does not mean that a federal court has any jurisdiction over the issues at hand.

You do not need a PHD to understand that these posts are ramblings of a classic mental ill person.......the SCARY thing is....this person's rambling is not much different than of a person who holds captive and tortures people....they also believe it's their "right" and whatever harm befalls them, was ultimately caused by the captive.....it is NEVER the fault of the captor....

I just saw this thread. Thank you Hodie for letting us know about this Janice Bartmess character.  I don't go to this forum often enough to get a sense of personalities so I thought this person had some useful input when she was talking about bloodlines, etc.
But obviously, an animal abuser like her should never be entertained by the dog lovers on this board and hopefully the news will also spread to the offline world of GSD enthusiasts. I hope the law finally catches up to her. For her own sake too since she obviously needs mental health treatment. Unfortunately, she just received a slap on the wrist years ago and is probably back to abusing animals. I will inform anyone interested in DDR dogs to steer well clear of her. When people google her name in the future this thread should pop out.

Hi Robin, I know you are always very careful in what you say here. Guess that this situation reached your boiling point.

Sadly, people like this are not all that uncommon in the dog world. I know an AKC person who is doing exactly the same thing right now. Dogs live in a crate in his garage practically 24/7, even whelping in the crates with very high mortality for the pups.

I don't even go to church or belong to a denomination. This is just a workaround that I've made on Christian principles, and helps with my own point of view, and it helps me to deal with disappointment, jealousy, anger, etc. It helps me to be more accepting and forgiving, or at least understanding. That helps ME, and that's a good enough reason for me. If it helps others, that is also nice! If I were an angry person, I'd have plenty of scores to settle, but thankfully, it takes a lot to get me mad and I have a pretty good belief system to maintain some balance and sanity in a crazy world. Besides.. Staying pissed off is a lot of work. There are usually better ways to spend that same energy. You know what? I've been on this darned list for hours, now. I've got to go get something useful done.
