I'm thinking that if I can get him to stand more foreward and then stretch both of his back legs out a few inches he will look better......maybe get him on his hock a bit more too??

I like all of these but it's funny how they all look a little different
overstretched, but this is how he stands naturally when focused on something

Congrats on your boy!
Did you go to the UScA SS this past weekend? I was so busy, I wanted to "watch" for everyone from the database to congratulate them.....but I missed a few.
How was the class?...who handled your puppy?

Miles......EVERYONE is important in the venues....at least they SHOULD be!.....this is one of the problems/issues I have with the officials and judges...."look & evaluate" without prejudice....the "dog" is at the "other" end of the leash!!....and his "value" is NOT found in his kennel name displayed in the catalog........JMHO.

We were at the show.
The dogs were a bit overwhelmed and didn't show well.
The person wth the chip reader came straight at Jyota and brought the reader up infront of her face. She stepped back thinking that she was going to be hit with it. They marked on her paper that didn't have neurve. Her breed survey was very good, she stayed in the back of the pack. Shak Williams handled her. Hero looked miserabe the whole time, he just stood there and barked with his ears pinned back, looking like he had eaten somethng that didn't settle well. Fred Lanting handled him. Both dogs were physically up to the task and were not tired after their clase. I learned lots and next time we will all be better prepared.
#1 Gait them with their heads up and ears forward, so they will do it in the ring.
#2 be careful and watch to see where the person with the micro chip reader is, and the teeth checker too.
#3 go inside the ring and keep dogs happy while they are waiting for their standing
#4 Teach dogs about where they need to be in the ring and not to cross the tape
#5 perpare in many smaller shows so they will be much better prepared for the larger one.
I was the one limping...... I managed to pop somethng in my calf. while I was running in the 18 - 24 male group. It was heard by people who were 10 or 15 feet away. OUCH!
It was most definately an adventure.

I am sorry that your experience was not a better one.......we have all been there one time or another.
I am confused on you mentioning that Jyota's "breed survey was very good"?....what do you mean?....she is just a puppy right?
I think that you mean "over all critique"......if so...that is most important.
Good luck at your next adventure....just have fun!

Jyota.......
good expression, good shoulder, good antulation front and rear, good whither, good back, good color, strong dog, correct movement, croup could be a little longer, ears could be a little firmer.
being a chicken shit is what did her in......
