Salmonella poisoning in children from dog food

I heard on the radio this morning a warning that kids can die and have died from Salmonella poisoning by contamination from parents feeding dogs dry dog food and not washing their hands afterwards and then feeding kids a snack or preparing a meal? Anyone else hear of this recently?

YEs, I heard it on CBS yesterday and the title of was Feeding your dog dry dog food can make adults and kids in your Family sick..I didnt stay in the house for the program but did hear the heading.

I am sure someone else here could tell us the content and who the research company was.????
