There had to be at least 20 standard anatomy GSD's at the show in Nuremberg.

By that I mean straight toplines, very good opening shoulders and beautifully turned rears, with a direct line of transmission., i.e. the GSD written standard in both the US and Germany.

It was the best I've seen in all my Sieger Shows. Mainly in the young classes were some absolute stars. The progeny groups of Vanos, Shicco, Ustinov, Remo, Arex, Tino, Quenn, Zamp,Yerom, Vegas, and Furbo, all had some superb quality animals.

It was quite a show. So pleased I have them all on video.

Had a really good laugh!

Thanks for making my day Lenny!

If we HAVE to summarize this year's (poor) Siegerschau, then it should read as follows:

the attendance has dropped spectacularly (public stayed away big time - even David Solo Payne wasn't there! No Silbersee's, no Videxes. Should his impressions follow, then he must have traveled incognito!)

9 of the 13 VA-dogs did NOT belong in the Auslese-group.

Some big breeders definitely had their falling out with Judge Maier, they have practically disappeared from the top.

If we're talking "progeny groups", the LAST VA (Paer Hasenborn VA13) had the best!

And what did former Presidents say? "VA's can only be distributed to dogs remaining in Germany to spread their genes with German females?"
Kwantum vom Klostermoor has been sold to Japan (and every present Japanese wanted to be in the picture!), Yerom vom Haus Salihin is sold (ask Budiman whereto). Even Arex von der Wilhelmswarte has been sold (50%) to Taiwan. (What's the matter with these people? Was it David Payne who lectured me on this very website, that it WAS NOT ABOUT THE MONEY??)

Other dogs going/gone to China: Furbo and Floro degli Achei, SG3 JHK Toni von der Rieser Perle (how stupid can one be, sending a SG3 to China!!! Or is something the matter with him?)
Iceman vom Amur, Wilson von Arlett, and Panjo vom Kirschental have been eating Chinese food for a while now.
We will have to travel to Beijing for the biggest GSD-event!)
Don't worry about reservations for the Chinese Sieger Show though, China is BIGGG!

It's questionable if going to China is healthy:
Maestro vom Osterberger-Land has died already, so has Vanos van Noort... Imagine that!

Insiders tell me, if you want a quality GSD, buy outside Germany!

Very sad! Very sad indeed.

Jantie, how many dogs have you refused to sell at the prices these dogs bring. $200,000 and up if scuttlebut is to be believed.

just curious,

I remember years ago that Ursus Batu had reportedly been sold for $1,000,000 and the deal fell through.

Show me the work ethic of that $200,000 dog and not a picture of it standing.  I guaranty that it was lacking in heart and had no soul.

What is Meyer's cut on these sales to Asia?

"Show me the work ethic of that $200,000 dog and not a picture of it standing. I guaranty that it was lacking in heart and had no soul."

I don't doubt or dispute you at all. As much as I would like to see someone make a case otherwise, with examples, I don't think it will happen.

But really that is not the topic of this thread. The topic is structure and anatomy and one persons views on the subject and what he saw at the sieger show.

I didn't bring up the money

Rik

no you didn't. you brought up what you always bring up, over and over and over again, regardless of the topic. .As valid as your point may be, it is not the only point of discussion related to the GSD. Nor should it be used to stifle discussion of subjects like anatomy, structure or standard.

"heart and soul" of the GSD is a subject worthy of discussion on it's own and one I would participate in.if you care to start it.
