You cannot tell anyone how large a dog will grow to upon maturity.  You can only be honest about the height he is at now and make a guesstimate based on the parents.  If the height he was quoted at 2 months ago is 2 -3 cm taller than now, something is mighty screwy.

Breeders must be totally honest and not stretch the truth to make a sale, if they want their reputation to stay in tact.

If someone lies to me once, everything that comes out of their mouth from then on is suspect.

 DebiSue & Red Sable,

Thank you for understanding my point, I wish I could write like you do, correct words and phrases plus correct thoughts expressing.

 Ibrahim,
I can totally understand what you are saying.....Honesty goes a long way..... Obviously, you are a trusting person, since you believed what the breeder was telling you....In the past, I have made that mistake also.  After all, you ARE trusting a reputable breeder.....Surely a reputable breeder would never mislead us....However in the event that the breeder thought she was being totally honest with you, why would she be so vague when answering you about the dog's height? A simple direct answer would have been appropriate.  We all depend on the reputable breeder's knowledge of knowing what they produce..... We also trust that they will have a pretty good idea of what an animal will be like at maturity.....Surely there is the exception to every situation...

I believe what Ibrahim is saying, is a more direct answer when asked about the dogs height would have been appreciated than the vague answer he received.  Even with the vague answer, he still trusted her as a reputable breeder to go ahead with the purchase,  only to find out the truth when the dog arrived....

From a working person's point of view, I understand that the bite and hold is more important. Thats what is first and foremost..That is what they pay for.....Conformation is secondary, as long as the dog can work....

To a person that purchases a showline dog with conformation being the primary purpose, the height IS a big deal, and 4cm is noticeable difference.......They want to get what They paid for.

I hope you get your answer Ibrahim, and it can all be worked out....

Ibrahim, you always say things in a tactful and kind manner, not so much me.

Nona, well written.

 nonacona60,

Very well said, I believe breeders, and I like to believe many if not the majority of them are honest and fair, should read with utmost attention what you have written in your above post added to what was written ahead by RS and DebiSue.
I said before on this forum and it is my sincere belief that an average (not a professional breeder, trainer etc) when buying from abroad should search the breeder first not the dog and he or she should rely more on what the breeder says than his or her own pieces of info or what is being said by the common person of no worthy experience.
I did a search on this very site about von Nimbus and found several previous threads praising the kennel and their dogs, my utmost concern when I contacted the breeder was to make sure I am talking directly to her not an agent, middle man or a trader, it did not cross my mind I would be lied to, mislead or cheated. I told her I would trust her on the info she provides to me as I am not an expert.
I asked all the right questions I know of, I even consulted some of the well informed on the GSD structure that I know and trust,  I even made sure to know what food he is used to.
A breeder should be more precise and transparent in his answers with a non-expert person and should even disclose any necessary information even when not asked for as he/she knows the other party may not be aware of its importance. When you sell to a professional he/she knows what to look for and does not need your advice but a non-professional needs it and deserves it.
It is not good enough that a reputable breeder does not steal the buyer's money and sends the same dog advertised, that is the least any breeder should do, a reputable breeder should do much more than that and is expected to be of higher quality, honesty & credibility. Just my opinion.

Ibrahim, any person should do good on their word, but few do.

There are many breeders that seem to be reputable, but who are not honest consistently.  When it comes down to a sale they really wish to make, these people will try and get away things that they wouldn't even try if they were selling to a person that they knew or someone they know better than to fudge the details with- even in the least.

It's nothing you didn't ask or something you didn't think of. She was not honest with you, she knows it, and that stings, a lot.  I understand. This has happened to me more than once in similar situations as you are experiencing.

I would like to just give a little word here and I hope that it helps.
I purchased two dogs from Andrea.  I like a taller dog.  I am very happy with both of my dogs size.  My male was purchased at two and he grew a little from two to three.  I wish you luck with your dog and I hope that your dog ends up making you very happy in the end.  I know that the two that I have did just that.
I do know that some times with Andrea, he has her dogs at the handlers facility and doesn't get out to them that often.  Or at least that is what my take of it was on my recent trip to Germany.  I think that may have played into this situation.  Anyway, just let me know if you need any info on the two I got.  One is a Selvar son and the female is a Eon daughter.  I did meet Eon while in Germany.  I was happy with his color, temperament, structure, and height.

when a breeder hides information to his buyer & / or send wrong information about the dog this is I call (FRAUD).

I have seen the pedigree of the dog which is a very good one, however have some questions in the para siblings the dog has 20 litter mates some under U litter & some under X litter, the U litter according to the information of one dog were born on March 2009 whilst the X litter also as per the information of Xaro were born on October 2009.

Ibrahim have you been given any explanation for this?

Also according to the progeny section of your dog Xaro, he has produced 2 dogs so far, latest of which bore your name "Test Ibrahim".  He is currently 13 months old, do not you think he is still so young to do so?
