Let's not get into a back and forth over who's program is better.  I understand there are those with very strong opinions regarding Daryl and Molly's breeding programs, and even stronger opinions over which one is "right".   Unfortunately these types of "back and forths" always end up in a very heated flame war, so for the sake of the thread and the board, and as I have asked both Molly and Daryl to do, and they have honored my request, I ask that everyone leave those sleeping breeding dogs lie, and  let's drop it, please.

Rik, my dog got honorable mention for dog of the month in DogWorld magazine, October 1982. That's gotta count for something.

What it comes down to, is what has the dog done. Nothing else matters.

You might assume everyone thinks the same, but that's where we are in disagreement.  What matters to me is what a dog is made of, and what it can produce.  As an analogy, do you think colledge graduates are more intelligent because of their degree?  Degrees are about societal entitlements, not natural born abilities.  The map is not the territory.

I disagree with you.  College degrees aren't all about entitlement,  they do demonstrate and are evidence  of an individuals  perseverance, commitment and work, as well as ability.  Of course they aren't always the more intelligent, and obviously just because someone doesn't get a degree doesn't mean he is more intelligent either, so that's a mute point.  Just like dogs, it's a starting point that many are judged by in the real world.

Like I have said and will say until the cows come home:  Health requirements should be mandatory for all breeding dogs, breed surveys and titles are mandatory as far as I am concerned with dogs that I buy and the people that I refer breeders to, but they are only the JUMPING OFF point, not the be all and end all.  But they say a lot more about a dog when I look at the scores, where the trials were held, who the helpers were, were these home field club trials or regional or higher trials, what level was the competion, who were the judges, than I can say about a dog who has done nothing but sit in someones backyard.

Pretty hard to disagree with that.  I look at dogs with titles too, before buying a pup and definitely health certificates.  However, if I knew the breeder, trusted him, and knew his dogs,  and LIKED them, titles would not matter at all to me.

I really do not get this childish back and forth. This is America, we are free to do as we choose. Free to buy from who we want, free to buy titled or untitled, free to breed what we want. I love all the people who would say this is America and we should only do it one way. Give me a break.

This is the last time I address this situation, next time I just start banning people. Bottom line if some members can't get along then they should stay clear of the members they do not like. I am 100% serious next time you folks go at it you will be banned. I am sick of this and it needs to stop.  No one wants to read this love triangle. I suggest it stops now. I will be sending pm's to the involved parties and take it how you want if you value your participation in this site I suggest this be the end of the elementary school love fest, yes and no will you go with me crap. I am sick of it. If either of you want to try me go ahead.

We as a community are tired of the 3 or 4 people who go out of their way to constantly harass each other and each others breeding programs. What a bunch of bull.

Red I think there are always exceptions, situations where it's worth it to take a chance.

If I were looking for a year or two year old dog, I would have much different requirements.  Since I'm not a breeder, just want dogs for sport, the lineage wouldn't be as important, because with a young dog I would already be able to see exactly what the dog has as far as drives, nerve, etc.. Same thing regarding health clearances, I wouldn't care as much about the hips/elbows/spine of the parents because I would be buying a dog who already has those clearances himself.
