I saw the ones Steve has but thats too elaborate and big. I am looking to build one a little less heavy. I have my poles and all welded and turning inside each other ready to go just need to get started on it.

One simple instruction.  Go visit Gene England in Bowling Green, KY and pay the man to show you how to work a dog on a table and what to look for.  Gene has been using prey and defense tables and using them intelligently and effectively longer than anyone in America.

Or I know another trainer I have seen turn dogs over to better, more stable unbelivably controllable dogs. I never needed to put any of my dogs on a table but I have seen what this man has done to these dogs and I was very pleasantly surprised...(night and day)

to the building of the table... well you dont want me to help but I am sure somebody will help.

Good question anyone with a skematic?

I use a plain ole log chunk about 20 inches in height and the diameter is about 24 .  Just big enough on the top for a very tight platz.  Works well but I can only move it by rolling it.

This is why learning about dog training and it's equipment over the Internet is dangerous.

Duderino,
Your original advice was the best.  Gene is very good with working dogs on the table, something to see.

Thank you.  I happened to be down in Bowling Green years ago watching Gene go through his paces with a mixed bag group of handlers and I overheard 2 women sizing up Gene's prey table discussing it's height and diameter and how they could build one at home and I just had to chuckle (to myself of course because as you know, I'm not one to stir up controversy) at the arrogance of people who think it's the "shape and size" of the table that's doing the work and not the way Gene is applying them.

I agree.  I went to a Gene England seminar last year and it was very interesting.  I definitely learned some things and brought back some good techniques and ideas to train with.  Very worthwhile.

The OP stated he wanted instruction for a "training" table. Not an Agitation table.  Big difference in the two.  My advice was for the training table. Looks the the poster is looking for instruction on building the latter.
