Hello,
I have a quetion about my German Shep Pup, she is almost 5 months old and is a happy puppy but everytime she gets excited she pee's on the floor. I can not find a way to prevent her from doing this, does anyone have a suggestion?

They usually grow out of it.

Don't let people tower over the dog, she's probably intimidated by people standing over her and staring.  The pee is a way of saying "See what a nice submissive puppy I am?  Please don't eat me."

Thank you for the response, she doesnt pee when she gets scared or when i have to get after her, its when she gets over excited like when we come home and see her for the first time or when my husband gets home from work or when a neighbor comes over she gets excited before they even enter the gate.

I ignore dogs when I come home if they are having pee issues. The first thing I do is let them out without really looking at them, talking to them etc. If she is already out and someone comes over, you can put her on a lead and make her sit. She cant pee if she is sitting. As much as we dont like it, in the wild its very much an acceptable behavior. She will grow out of it as long as YOU don't enforce it now.

If she pees then leave the pee spot and put her out or crate her whatever you do now. Go back and clean up the spot. Ive had pups pee more when you go back to clean up. If she likes the ball, you can have her refocus on something else while the new person comes in. That has also worked.
