Okay so i have a 6 month old pup that came when she was 10 weeks. House trained like a breeze and no major issues.
Fast forward to the last month and suddenly EVERY freaking night she is pooping in her kennel....grrrrrrrr
This dog can easily go 8 hours during the day when i am at work and never have an issue. Its only at night.
So i tried physically watchng that she pooped before bed time...Nope that didnt work
Then i tried feeding her earlier at night- Nope that didnt work.

So my thought is now to only feed her once a day in the morning?

I dont know what else to do...any idea's?

Thanks

Feed her in the morning. If nothing else just to see if it works. Make sure she gets a least a half hour walk on lead before bed as well.  ( I say on lead so that you can actually see her go potty, just putting them in the yard is not enough)  Have you changed foods?  I tried 4 different foods before the crate monster from hell can finally go a few hours without messing the crate. Keep at it it took me two solid months to get this adult to stop being dirty.

What kind of foods did you try? I havent changed anything but i may try that route as the poop has always been soft not completly formed per say.
She is on totw lamb currently.

She always gets a walk at night and always goes to...And its the fact she always does it at night...Just grrrr is all i can say...lol

I would suspect the food as well.

Everytime my crate trained male / female have had issues with defecating in the house / crate it's been with soft / mushy stool due to a bad reaction to their food.

I started with Eagle NOT due to the food itself but the kennel pack has a binder in it making more solid poop.  ( keep in mind I was dealing with a dog who pooped in the crate up to 8 times a day.....) then I went to Origen and that was a complete nightmare. Pooping through the eye of a needle at 60 paces..... (  i still like the food just not for this dog.)  I bought president's choice from our local food co-op and that did the trick.  Now that the dog is understanding the crate routine I've gone back to "Common Sense" as that is my preference for the working dogs :) and with raw diets I get half or less stool volume.   I think there was a thread on here about people having issues about TOTW not long ago, maybe see if you can find that thread.

If the 'deposits' (how polite is that) LOL - are softish then it does sound possibly a diet problem.

Also, would like to add, that after the feed in the morning, and after being fully digested, that is probably the 'deposit' during her walk in the evening.  Now instead of feeding the second meal in the early evening, which may be ready to dispose during the early hours, have you tried feeding a little later in the evening?  So that (hopefully) her body will be digesting during the night, and ready to toilet during her morning walk.

PS.  Remember to ensure that it is not so late that you immediately go to bed, rather than making sure she is settled and comfortable following her meal.

Regards,
Vixen

PPS.  When you are at the end of your rope - tie a knot and hang on!!!

Thanks everyone:) I appreciate all the input.

Today i have taken her off the food to let her tummy rest and am going to go out tommorrow and try some new food.
Sadly am looking at something with a grain in it:( I hate grain in my dogs food but at this point i think i need  a binder of some kind.
I was looking at acana but i am still not sure if thats the way i should go.

I just want normal poop and no kennel full of poop every morning...lol

@brynjulf- I guess you had to suffer through your own xtreme crate pooping dog so that you could be of help to others. Don't you feel  better now that there's a larger, cosmic meaning behind your unpleasant experience? I checked, and yep, your thread is still funny (http://www.pedigreedatabase.com/german_shepherd_dog/forum.read?mnr=107646). Ha!

Laura271, I am wondering if you are in need of a spankin this morning :)  Cheeky bugger...... LOL

LOL...that is a funny thread...

but in all seriousness....

most dogs eat than poop...so if you feed your dog dinner and than give him/her a treat an hour-two later (I use doggy biscuits - "cookie") usually that triggers the digestion and my girl goes out and does her business and it stays clean all night....

just a suggestion.... :)
