now how do you get that dead lock attetion. you know when a dog its in high drive dead lock on your eyes ready for what ever you tell him to to do.

so woh do you train attention with adults and puppes would love to know the different styles.

You just kinda answered your own question. What drives/motivates the dog. You teach it. Focus-reward.

I messed up not doing enough of this with my adult dog so I made it a priority with my puppy.  We didn't do a lot of formal obedience but instead I trained him that the BEST place in the WORLD to be is beside me in "fuss" position giving me attention.  The nice thing is that now that we are working on more formal obedience as we will start preparing for a BH this spring, he naturally heels with eye contact without even having a formal heel command yet, and instead of having to work to get him to focus, he loads into drive the longer I just stand there and let him watch my face.
