Hans - no, I accept that it was in Czech & I could not begin to translate
it;  I don't know how well you speak Czech. ( ! )  ; ) .  You certainly appear
to write better English than this orig. Post, normally !!    I would however
usually expect a bit better than this from the Google translation service, even
if that's not perfect.

As others have pointed out, there doesn't seem to be any other source to
corroborate this.  Which is why I am suggesting it was an April Fool 'joke'.
Maybe I am completely wrong, which will no doubt become plain in
time - but if I'm not, you all fell for it ...

Well none of this kit is used to train Police or Prison service dogs in UK and we still seem to have some pretty effective ones, like this one we supplied to Suffolk Police.

Kaffirdog,
Do you actually train Police dogs?

The VDH and the SV are the 800 pound gorillas in the FCI.  As long as the VDH and the SV oppose this resolution it will never happen.  The FCI is nothing more than a dog show company for the big kennel clubs and the large sport organizations.  The FCI derives any power or money it has from the deep pockets of the large member organizations that are it's members and patrons.  This resolution has no chance of ever passing in it's present form.  It would be easy to pull the teeth from the resolution with a change of less than a dozen words.  If it passes it will be amended to pull any regulatory muscle from the FCI and hand it back to the member organizations.  The FCI is basically the AKC with a new paint job and reflects the will of the member breed clubs and countries.  All you need to do is go to the FCI web site and look at their staff size and you quickly realize the VDH or the AKC could buy and sell the FCI.  There is no FCI member in the United States because the FCI only wants the AKC as a member and the AKC is so large that they get all the benefits of FCI membership without any of the costs so why join.  I believe that the VDH and the AKC are about the same size (600,000 + members) and both need the FCI a lot less than the FCI needs them.

Jenny,It was 1999, I was on my way to a Rodeo I was hired at in Lake Geneva, Wis. Stopped to visit friends in Robins, Il. The guy, Randy, was going on about how nobody would come to the town hall meetings, just him fighting the proposed law. He was pissed that the law had passed, so he said he was going to put a full bridle on his horse and ride him in town, just to get arrested. All to show how stupid the law is.
So, it could have been there, or Wauconda ( the worst animal rights protesters I've ever seen in that town).

My point being, there needs to be as many or more to protest what the extremists are trying to impose, or they will get their way. Sorry, that was supposed to say Richmond, not Robins (Robins is home of rodeo producer I worked for when I met Randy and his wife).

Hi Slamdunc

No, I don't train police dogs, the UK police do that themselves, I just supply them with dogs that show the right traits and put in a bit of foundation before they go, been doing this for over 20 years and have a pretty good success rate.

bubbabooboo from your mouth to god's ears. However I assure you that this is seriously discussed in all members clubs which are organized under FCI . FCI registers clubs and not dogs like AKC does. If FCI passes this, then it will go. However I think that this is just a shot over the bow. The problem is that no one wants to be labeled as cruel or abusive or condoning such, thus some will give in a little and some will give in more later. This is a war of attrition, slippery slope and of boiling of a  frog.  Yes this is just a proposal, but keep in mind that there are already countries forbidding use of pinch collars. In NY it is illegal to teach the dog true protection ( not sport) and so on and on. I do not want to be fear monger, but I would not be complacent either.

@ bubbaboo the video was made public another vdh judge, already they cancelled edgar scherkel as a judge for the world championship (fmbb) pending the result if fci would susspend scherkel as a judge so it is already effective!!!
i've seen the video and yes the dog screamed very hard,
internal VDH politics now effect the rest of fci member country's, VDH maby can protest (sv cannot) but it won't have any effect, moresow because of the lack of workingdogpeople within the board (just as in SV itself)
but considering all political games within all organisations nobody will protest
fci doesn't follow sv or vdh rules it's vice versa

This really is a big problem.
In Austria and in Swiss pinch collars are forbidden by law for years now, in Germany they are forbidden, too ( people still handle the law differently - but there are already several court decisions against the use of pinch collars). E-collars are forbidden since 2004 for every member of VDH ( forced by Society for Prevention of Cruelty to Animals - anchored in law ).
SV and DVG lost this battle, so did other European countries. Members are not allowed to use these tools "officially" ...
I´m not against agility, flyball, SAR, and all this stuff - to each its own - but a lot of these people with their funny little coach potatoes ( sorry, don´t want to blame anyone ) are organized in animal rights groups, THEY don´t need these tools....
The most part of Europe is living with these restrictions for almost 10 years now, they didn´t change the dogs, but the new born German Shepherds become lesser and lesser ( not too bad in my opinion, but that´s another point and off topic right now ), people not involved in Schutzhund change to smaller breeds or breeds with less temperament.
For me it´s a question of time, when bitework in clubs becomes forbidden at all for private people.
I really hope I´m too old to see this happen...

Kyto

We are already using lesser dogs. 20 years ago they were stronger and harder, and they will continue to get weaker and weaker, and  if you do not do something NOW it will get worse.  I am doing something myself I bought a prospect with the expectation that she will be hard, aggressive, self assured and just plain nasty. Then I will breed her to something harder then that. What do I hope to get?  Some real nasty dogs, some PP dogs and some sport dogs. If all I breed is sporty dogs all I can do is sporty type and pet type activities, because at best that is all they can be.

There is a real need for hard bite for real dogs. People and business are getting tired of being attacked  for walking around the block, they are tired of getting their homes broken into and their thing stolen. The police can not keep up with crime and it is time for us to protect our own place. It is time we take back what the "save the whales save the trees" folks have taken away from us.

It has been discussed on this forum about the danger of bitting dogs. My lot where I park my business trucks and equipment never get broken into and things do not get stolen.  Is it possible?  Yes.. but it does not. WHY?  I have dogs, dogs that raise hell and are aggressive the whole time they can see, hear or smell someone. Do they bite?  Yes they will. BUT all of the would-be thieves stay away. It has been a win win for me.

We need to pull our heads out of our butts and realize what is happening in this country. It is going down hill in a hurry.
