Jettasmom, good job. Those that can, do and those that can't, make excuses.

As long as the titles or the lack thereof is not being used as an excuse to breed, then I don't really care. What's important to me with this breed is working ability--whether the parents have been sufficiently tested, if they 'exceed' what is the norm for the breed, if the breeder knows the lines left and right, if their idea of a good dog is not just because they own it. I respect this breed because of its working abilities, no other, so I put very little value on whether the dog makes a good pet or no so long as it exemplifies the breed's traits for my purposes. That said, if I was looking for a pet for say, a family member, health certificates and so on become more important.

jettasmom, Excellent JOB !! Congrats !!! Big Pat on the back girl YOU deserve it. Spook, I noticed you still refrain from answering blitzen's question.

jettasmom, sorry about the problems with the second breeding. The question is, do you think it's OK to breed without titles? Why did you breed the litter when you had just failed a SchH1? Why not wait until you passed? Just curious, not picking.

Oh God here we go... a person can't be honest here without having their throat slit! Everybody starts somewhere. I hardly think most of the old school breeders do the right thing or even are SURE of what they are doing. NOt too long ago we were talking about a breeder of 350 litters who hardly titles dogs. Why do so many feel the need to point the finger and want to lay blame? There are allot of us that are in our twenties and thirties who will still be here along after the "Know it alls" are gone.

I hope not animules. I enjoy learning and passing along info to others. I just disslike when people look down on others who don't know as much. All you can do is pass on any info they want or need. Giving attitude along with it, will more than likely shut down the learning process.

I have no problem in saying why I bred my female before her Sch1 and breed survey. I absolutely agree titles are important and needed but IMO only for a first breeding with the right bitch. I had no plans on breeding her again until she had her Sch1 and KKL. That is why she was bred almost 2 yrs later. Like jletcher18 said Alot of breeders in Germany do this to see if the female 1st can produce 2nd is a good mom 3rd to see what they can produce. They also do not want to put all the time needed for training if they cannot produce. I did this because of those reasons but the main reason was she was absolutely the type of female that should be bred. She proved it with her 1st litter.

Jettasmom, would you consider starting a new thread telling about your bitch's pyo? It might help someone else in the future. Your bitch sounds like a great dog and I'm sorry she had to be spayed.
