Melody you are once again attempting to state a fact, and it simply is NOT true, do you really want me to go further with formal complaints against you ? Stop stating that as fact, If you wish to say, It is my opinion blah blah blah, well then your welcome to it. It is my opinion YOU Melody Gray are a presumptuous Cow ! But it is not a fact.

People like echo meadows are the reason this breed is disarray. Instead of arguing lets just look at some of the facts she’s divulged herself: Considers herself a temperament expert after having ”been to some classes.” I’ve been with the breed for over 2 years working only with European bread dogs (who have all titles), training 4 days a week, going to club EVERY weekend, spent gobs of $$$ on seminars, traveling the country to visit other clubs trials and wouldn’t consider myself the slightest breed expert. and the experts I’ve met (the real ones) will tell you it takes years to fully be able to evaluate dogs, any dog – but shepherd more than others. This is due to multidimensional aspect of GSDs vs. the single purpose most breeds are developed for. These “experts” have bred countless litters, evaluated scores of puppies train every weekend, most days, going to shows, breed surveys trials, national events, etc – now we’ve got someone who’s never been to anything beyond a club trial (if that) who is an over night expert evaluator of temperament because her bitch will let a raccoon nurse from it? Claims to breed to M. v. Stephanitz’s vision of the breed – but doesn’t value the breed survey tool (schtuzhund titles) he put into place to preserve working ability enough to even USE IT. Instead considers herself a responsible breeder because she performs bruceolosis tests? The title of this thread and the responses don’t address the simple fact that titles should be the minimum requirement to be bred. That they have become washed out, abused in some cases and improperly earned or given does not mean you throw out the baby with the bath water – unless you’re looking for a reason to not do the work to begin with. Knows some of what is required for a KKL? My god – I don’t even know what to say about this one… Yet she can properly evaluate the temperament of a Shepherd? The trainers directors raving about the temperament and working ability of her dogs – who are they, what have they done? She’s a breed/temperament “expert” but relies on others to evaluate her dogs “and who is she to argue with them?” Uses a 4H temperament trial to make some point?!? Asked to state her vision for the breed instead describes here dream kennel and property size… Had an “opps” litter? This is unreal! Someone who claims to be a breeder (learning or not) allowed an unplanned breeding? I’d love to know a judge that passed a dog on a BH after it jumped on him. Last I knew the judges liked to see drive and temperament in the obedience phase but it is the “TRAFFIC SAFETY TEST” jumping on people is frowned upon at the trials I’ve been to… Here’s a challenge, name the clubs your dogs are in that are doing well – I’ll keep an eye in the back of the USA magazine where the trial results are posted looking for your kennel name. Name the agencies where you’ve placed working dogs and the dogs call names. This is public record and should be no secret (unless you want to keep it that way) so why be vague – spill it. Where did your breeding stock come from? Name some of the notable dogs in your dogs pedigree and tell us what they contributed to what you currently have. State he name of any of the dogs you produced that HAVE been titled and with what organization? How old is your oldest litter of GSDs? Any worth their salt in working or conformation homes will have BHs or SAR, K9 certs if older then 2 years. I’m willing to bet we get NO answers to these questions which a breeder proud and confident of their breeding practices would have pasted all over their website. I could go one and on. Yes there titled dogs out there that didn’t earn them and it seems the process for titling is becoming more and more washed out – but the true danger to the breed is people, with ZERO PERSPECTIVE about it who are self proclaimed experts and know nothing. -Calvin
