Start preferring females to have more masculin heads. I've seen some females with pretty weak heads, but they're considered "feminine" so its acceptable. JMO. I personally like butchy females, LOL.

A word of caution based on things I've learned from another breed - be careful what you wish for when it comes to bulkier heads. For every action there is a reaction, moderation is the key, something we Americans don't seem to understand LOL. Breeding for heavier muzzles also results in a shorter muzzle which eventually results in bite problems, missing teeth, and breathing issues. Next comes a domey skull which is not only unattractive, it is also incorrect for the breed and with that comes a bad ear set and round eyes.
Some photos I see of today's top GSD's already show an overdone dog with a thick coarse body, short legs and a head that is far too heavy for a working dog. If a GSD doesn't have the agility to herd all day or bring down the bad buy, he has lost all the survival characterists that have made a GSD a GSD. I do understand that a masculine head is desired, but don't take it too far or the GSD will become too heavy to be the athletic breed it is intended to be. I don't see that heavy head or squatty body in any of the photos I've seen of the foundation dogs.
