Call me Ishmael.

by vk4gsd on 24 September 2013 - 23:09

who's gonna be cap't ahab and who is the whale..

"...Ishmael, as a first person narrator, is the one lens that we can actually see. Still, although we’re aware of him, it’s very difficult to figure out what sort of effect supposedly simple Ishmael has on the story he’s telling us. Is he a telescope, a microscope, a kaleidoscope, a clear piece of glass, a dirty and scratched lens,? Is he exaggerating, omitting, minimizing, distorting? Heck, is he telling us
his own story or someone else’s – Captain Ahab’s or even the White Whale’s? And can we trust him?

So we should be on the lookout for our Ishmael, the one telling us the story of Moby-Dick, to be (1) a fatherless outcast in a barren landscape, (2) really lucky and/or protected by what seems to be divine intervention, and (3) the creator of a new people/world/something awesome by the end. What does Ishmael create? Read on...."

Weak Dogs Yes, they are around in abundance, and what is the cause of this , i will tell you. People breeding from animals which are not tested in anything. People breeding from there dog just because it is a German Shepherd.
and People who care nothing about the breed for the future generations to come but are only interested in lining there own pockets.
I see it all the time several times a week, G.S Dogs that cannot seem to grasp the basics, lovely dogs but very slow to learn anything. It all boils down to the genes and in part how the dog is bought up. When you look around let us say in the IPO sport for the amount of Dogs competing in this sport the TOP dogs are few and far between, there are good dogs about which excel at club level but cannot step up to National and International level, and there are Dogs who will never do any good in the IPO sport let alone any other venue. in other words to much indiscriminate breeding practise,s going on
