"The breeder on a small scale, one who works with 1 or 2 bitches, is the most suitable breeder for service dogs because he can care for his breeding animals & their progeny to such an extent that he can produce strong sound animals that can be trained."

"Breeding on a large scale and in a Kennel is the ruin of all sound shepherd dog breeding. It is not possible to keep shepherd dogs in 'herds'...his master must be able to be busy with him, especially as a young dog".

"A dog raised in a kennel craves to escape from such crass stupidity into liberty, the presence of people,...to play & work (and) causes a state of continuous exasperation that frets at their nerves...many acquire a craze for purposeless actions...often harmful to themselves, "

"Dog breeding must be done by a dog-lover and cannot be a profession. The work of breeding service dogs must be the work of dog-lovers, (such as) the Shepherd with sheep breeds as a dog lover, for they have the desire to breed for exemplery, efficient and useful dogs."

-Captain Max von Stephanitz, 1864-1936

Sticking a dog in a kennel like what Molly was doing goes against what our father of the breed wanted. A German Shepherd dog are not suppose to be kennel dogs. Their far to intelligent to handle the total isolation, which any normal intellectual being would react in a negative way if they were in the same situation like this dog was for a whole month in Molly's kennel.

Why do you think prisoners escape from prison/jail? Because it's pleasant? No it's total hell being LOCKED up against your will. Same goes for mental health patients. Do you think patients who escape are doing it because of their sickness? No. They escape so they can get back their freedom.

For those who want to talk about how weak and shitty this dog is, and that she should be put to sleep should learn some neuropsychology already, and understand what happens when an animal (Both humans and lower animals) is put in isolation or inside of a cell for a long period of time. This dog is naturally intelligent and was only reacting over being in a situation that should've never happen.

If someone shoved you in a cell would you like them? Hell no. This dog hated Molly because she was her prison warden instead of breed warden.

Shelly, I have not said anything but I hope you know me well enough to know how sickening this has also made me.  Thank you...................words cannot express how the vids and the pics made me feel.

Right, well Gritt's clearly back with who she should be with,
irrespective of what went on.
Not having commented on her temperament earlier,  now I
would say on the strength of these pix that she does not have
the strongest nerves in the world, genetically, but that she is
NOT naturally the sort of 'born train wreck' some would have
had put down without  further ado.  A really total nerve-bag
would have had problems with that camera / phone coming at
her, and I didn't see that in her eyes.  Like others, not a dog I
would ever want to breed from, but certainly not a write-off,
away from a strange and noisy kennel and stranger people.
I wish her and Christina's family the best of luck for the future;
I for one could never let a dog who was that pleased to be back
with me go anywhere else ever again.

I,d love to see Chris let her settle back in at home rebuild that bond and then go to any of the legitimate trainers that we have suggested  and work her and retrial her 2 and then Shut Helser and Graft up!. I,d pay to see that!!!

Here is the PERFECT example of stupid! Some girl named Trish(don,t call her Trisha) on Chris,s face book page just told Chris "You should breed her to your new male" !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! That is why so many people get into trouble and there are so many screwed up dogs in the world! STUPID STUPID STUPID!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I,m sure Chris is smarter then that! Obviously this "Trish" isn,t.

Let's hope so, Bob.

I think one person said she should be put down.  The rest said she needs to be taken out of that environment and given a better life.  It's apparent that dogs really know who's worth it and who's not.  Molly and Timmy should be  ashamed of what they turned that dog into.  Still not a dog that should be bred, but I am very happy she's home and her life has already greatly improved.

Glad Shelley was there to help out. Over the last 8 years, I  left 4 dogs in those kennels several different times. When I got back  to the kennels to take my dogs home, they were happy and  displayed no nerve issues. I have been in those kennels myself. This discussion should then.go on to talk about the pros and cons of kennels. Have other countries outlawed them yet? As for feces in the kennels, I volunteer at the local ASCPA and clean out feces of nervy dogs and calm dogs. Sorry to change the narrative a bit. If you look at the thread of a few years ago that probably holds the record for the longest one, everything I said would happen with the female and pups happened the way I said it would. I didnt need to call anyone.
So kennels are evil?? They drive dogs crazy? Sounds like " Reefer Madness" to me.
