Great! But the problem is that China doesn't care what FDA tells them. They don't follow the same rules the US manufacturers must follow. That's why there is a problem with products from China.
That is where you are misinformed. If FDA advises they can not sell their product here, because of our new regulations, they will rush to make it right.

And Joan, my dogs like fresh veggies too or name brand canned ones I KNOW are canned right here in the US.
My other thing those Waggin Tails things are sold mostly by Dollar General here. Why oh why would people buy food and treats at the dollar store in the first place? I think what you buy there is different than stuff you get in the regular stores. Otherwise why does it have DG's logo on it and be so much cheaper. I am talking purina, Iams and Pedigree for the "name brands" --I forget their generic stuff--I think it is called Everpet. God only knows what's in it and where it comes from. So just IMO it is as much the buyer's fault as the manufactorer--but I guess people are so hooked up on their pets being second class that anything will do................Read your labels folks and stop feeding your pets things manufactored in places YOU won't eat food from....................

I would take up the FDA on their offer to hear your rant, though, it should be a good outlet for your misguided beliefs.

And for those that are interested, I come at this from a different perspective, having worked some on water quality issues, etc. http://www.forbes.com/sites/jeffmcmahon/2011/04/14/why-does-fda-tolerate-more-radiation-than-epa/
(My point in posting this isn't about scary scary radiation, ooh, but that different guiding philosophies in different organizations have far-reaching effects, and we should pay attention.)

Voniisk, see you are talking about illegal dealings, and that is opposite to being FDA approved.-I saw a think on CNN about this Am guy who was a kingpin in Mexico making illegal precription drugs--not onmly were they illegal they had shit in them that w3as dangerous and yes caused a few deaths. Do you think if they don't give a damn about people that they are going to care anymore qabout dogs?
So, I suppose that means, you, Joan, and MollyandJack—you don't want FDA involved in the pet food supply? So how does that solve the tainted "jerky" problem? Just let them remain on the shelves and hope everyone will boycott them and let the mystery of it all scare people away?
Hmmm. How many more dogs will suffer doing it that way instead of requiring standards to be met? Of course there will be scofflaws to the standard, but many more will do the right thing than are doing it today. Funny how that is not obvious!
