Bob-O- Repeat after me: "Household appliances are NOT appropriate gifts for my wife!" Now go write that on the chalkboard 100 times and think beautiful thoughts about diamonds, new cars, tropical cruises, spa getaways... things like that. Buy the vacuum cleaner for yourself. :-D Shelley -who KNOWS gifts for women

I am a neat freak - the Dyson animal vac is the bomb.

bad idea vacuum for valentines day! RU asking to sleep on the couch! We bought ours at Best Buy and got no interest/no payments for a year. it was nice to be able to spread the payments out for over a year.

Blitzen, If you are a neat freak, then, though I would absolutely love a visit from you sometime, you probably would have to stay in an RV or in a motel. You could simply not stand to be in the house. It is always cluttered with this and that, and despite a Dyson and good intentions, there is ALWAYS dog fur somewhere (not to mention dust and sand from living on 40 acres of dirt and sand!) Best regards.

Since we are on the related subject. Does anybody happen to know of a very good steam cleaner that will pickup heavy duty dirt from the carpit? Also whats the best product to remove stains thats literly hard to remove?

DYSON, DYSON DYSON! I could be the spokes model for them. I got it for x-mas from my husband- he told me he bought me a new car. lol Hey at least it wasn't a broom. lol Anyways, the first time I used it I pulled enough fur out of the rug to build myself another shepherd. It also works great on hard surfaces. Not like a regular sweeper that just blows the damn fur around and you gottat chase it around the kitchen. I think he paid around $500. But it's the best investment.

Brittany, The only steam cleaner that I found that works worth a darn is the hoover steam vac, as for stains Krud Kutter sp? seems to work the best for me.

DYSON, I am allergic and asthma. My physican told me to get rid of pets, lmao, he must not really know me. I bought the DYSON and wha-la symptoms are much better. I too am amazed at the dirt and hair in the canister. YUCKY to say the least, you know how some people get grossed out when you let your dog lick you, they should see what is on their floor! Carpet actually looks newer. Hubby wasnt happy with the price at the time but now is a convert. I have 2 GSD, 2 Cairns, a cat, 2 birds.

Sorry for the 'Dyson Downer' but I would NEVER buy one again! I have had 2 - both top of the range models, and for the first few months they had both been brilliant - then when it comes to filter cleaning etc...I have found they aint so good. The aftercare, I agree has always been excellent, and I have had replacements - but I just dont rate the product anymore. Have you seen the New Dyson hand-dryer? the blade, I think its called - wow! I've had mine for around 2 years now and no problems. Every now and then I take it apart and hose out the filter. When you use a Dyson for the first time there will be things in the cannister you can't identify. Hodie, I love to clean, so when we come to visit we will just park the RV in your driveway - there goes the neighborhood - and I'll do you entire house for you.
