Gustav, Susie - the 'Cream' of this thred...

(younger viewers might need help with this reference !)

Hundmutter

This is purely for Gustav:
In among the re-runs on telly over the Xmas hols,  we have seen some
'K9' programmes from the City of Saint Paul LED  (is that Missouri ?).

Not that old;   I think it dates from about 2004/5.  In the photo-shots for
the start and finish of these, there is one Mali.  All the dogs and handlers
we 'went out on patrol' with were... GSDs.

1, maybe 2, of these were said to be direct Czech imports.  Most, but not all,
were sable.

That's your country, not mine.
Now, I know I was hearing the  "all the Police are going over to Malinois" stuff
well before 2004.  Comments please ?

Are you still doing your class for the S/L ladies ?

Sadly, two questions always occur to me whenever I see that video,
or when the question is otherwise discussed:

What part of acting like a crocodile for points was in the original working
purpose
of any of these Breeds - Belgian Shepherd, Dutch Shepherd,
German Shepherd, or Rottweiler - ?  (Any more than poncing around in a
Show Ring, if that is all they ever do ?]

How does anyone propose we reducate the great dog-buying public that if
they want to own one or more examples of any of these breeds, they have
to commit to putting in the time to "Above all,... keep this dog a working dog."?

joan and keith seems like you two have a common interest - SHIT - you should both hook up off-line and see where your shared passion leads, don't post the results tho.

mod note; their word not mine.

hundmutter, when you have a breed that primarily functions over agression instead of prey, and you attempt to breed out the agression and secondly, today few helpers know how to work a dog that is not mostly prey, you will get to the current situation.

It's been along time since I have seen a good Rott.
