Gustav - Workability and hardness seem to be the main determinant.

Bob - Keep us posted on your upcoming Caro litter.

Koach - WF is one of my kennels on the short list.

bebo - I am on it. Thanks for this great lead.

I've seen some very good KNPV Mali's too... .

DDR, Malinois rule KNPV, the GS is the exception....thats why everyone gets very excited when one gets a PH I.

HD - This is the sole reason I have considered a KNPV parentage Mali pup.
Let me know of any leads, PM or on post. Thanks

HD (or others)- By the way, what do you think is the cause of the lack of KNPV GSD's?
Could it be: 'watered-down' hardness, lack of trainers, lack of interest, is it the locality??

I do not believe there is one or even two factors involved. I believe it is a multitude of
given factors.

And no bashing of sorts, as we are all in it for the LOVE of the breeds.

PM sent...

The lack of ANY breed in the KNPV outside of Holland is the fact that the KNPV will not allow their organization to get out of their own country. They have seen what happened to other sports that made it to this side of the pond, how diluted the dogs became, how watered down the sport itself got and they dont want to deal with it, I dont blame them.
Another reason is lack of dedication and the hardness of the sport. It takes 2 years to get a PH I and that is with training several times a week. The attitude here is much different then it is there where dog training clubs are a social place where everyone gathers and trains and has fun. Clubs "compete" with eachother to see who will get higher points or more champions at trials.
Lastly, the dogs needed to do this work are not the pussyfied version most people like to keep as pets, they are working animals being trained for serious work. I can go on and on, but, I am sure you got the point.

HD - You are a valuable resource! Thanks.

Bob - Nice combo's.  I like Elsa  x  Caro. This is an outcross of breeding where you can always
'play' around with future genetics to linebreed on a certain sire/dam, Caro?  The possibilities
are there for this. Of course (after), the appropriate health cert's and titling of progeny.
Just to add: Crok & Rocky on the bottomside.

What was YOUR decision to use Caro?

Pike Gardefense is another fine specimen.
