Educating thread, decent intellectual discussion, a smart director "ddr gsd", thanks for the good dialogue here

I have a question, I looked at the pedigrees of the KNPV dogs mentioned above and to my surprise they share same ancestors of many "sport dogs". So what makes these dogs different?, they have same genes !!
Doesn't that mean "many sport dogs" if trained in KNPV wouldl do as well?

Sorry to burst any bubbles here, but, I don't see any difference in the pedigrees of the German Shepherds listed in this thread than all the IPO dogs here in the U.S. and over in Europe.
Same bloodlines with a dog or two in the pedigree with a KNPV title. And, they are the same bloodlines that are being used for police work, SAR, etc.
They may be trained differently and in a different discipline, but, they are the same bloodlines, and basically, the same dogs.
Some of the dog's bloodlines even include show dogs, just like some dogs in IPO.
A good dog is a good dog, regardless of discipline.

Maybe some haven't noticed, but, there are competitions between clubs here to see who scores higher.
This has been implemented at regionals (not officially at all regional events) and at national events here for a few years now.

Bob,
Your breeding (or breedings) will turn out great!
You have nice dogs and when you breed it is with a great deal of thought.
Looking forward to seeing how the pups turn out for you.

Ibrahim,
As I said above, a good dog is a good dog.
Yes, is the answer to your question.
There are quite a few dogs competing in IPO that would do well in any discipline chosen for them.
There are no magic countries, no magic training, and certainly no magic dogs.

Ibrahim..not all dogs born in the same litter will be uniform, thats a fantasy. What makes these dogs different is higher social aggression, being very handler hard, most of them can be very sharp and so on. I very seriously doubt that you can take most of today's prey monkeys and turn them into serious police/military working dogs.  This can get to be a long thread Ibrahim, but, I am sure you understand.

Ibrahim - So glad you stopped in for a chat.  From what I know,
the Dutch KNPV  Program(me) is a lifestyle.  They breathe, eat,
sleep and chatter over immense dog(ology) that impresses me
to where they, IMHO, are experts in the workingline (KNPV) GSD's.
Of course, KNPV is the origin in NL.  I know of one KNPV club
in Florida, USA.

I would like to add: the Mali, Dutchie, x mal, x dutchie, (and probably
a type of breed I haven't heard before but that is for a different
thread), are other breeds familiar in their locality, and very well-bred.

Take a look at the decoy, KNPV Club, handler/ agitator, families getting
together, they all support one another, as it should be.  I believe
this is ONE of their stronger points in a successful program(me).

I'm hoping someone would stop in and enlighten us from NL.

Of course, we have our forum experts we can rely on that have
been so forthcoming in this post and PM's.

At the end of the day Ibrahim, we are 'seeking' our ideal companion,
whether it is for the 'field' or just in the home lying by our feet and
readying for another soft touch/whisper or another scrumptious treat.

I'm sure others will post. What makes these dogs different?
 KNPV training and acquiring certification.

Hired Dog,
If you're trying to put words in to my mouth, don't bother. I'm a little too smart for that.
No one said that all dogs in the same litter will turn out the same, other than you bringing it up falsely as though it were a part of this conversation.
The real fantasy, though, is people thinking they have the magic sprinkle dust on the dogs they like.
Sorry, it doesn't work that way.
As was pointed out, same bloodlines and no magic dogs. I'm sure you understand.

OGBS - What bubble, are you listening to Lawrence Welk. If
you are it is understandable.

Sorry, not sure what you mean.
What does listening to a, "bubble", mean?
I listen to music.
I talk and listen to people that have a decent general understanding of how the world works.
Magic potion people don't do a lot for me.

Thanks ddr gsd. I think Hired Dog was answering my question and explaining things to me, I don't think he was hinting anything at you at all unless I missed something. Again a very good thread and educating discussion, all posters had good points of view, I find myself closer to OGBS stand but I'm only a student.
