Unfamiliar with his pedigree, but like the dog, without familiarization of the pedigree I would not know which bitch he may complement or NOT complement.  So are they willing to send those x-rays, and when were those x-rays taken;  would you be able tsend to SV for evaluation??  Or are you able to have them redone after purchase.  Do you personally know the owners?  Where is the transferable paperwork for this dog?  These are all questions I would want to resolve BEFORE purchase as well as seeing the dogs temperament in person.

You are talking future puppies from this dog and without all that info I do not recommend purchasing this dog and would also want to know about health checks and references from vet...  JMO

About the dog:  like him a lot, very pretty black boy with more of a showline type build;  would imagine he would cover some ground.  Like his type and angles are sufficient in pic's;  however as you probably know pic's are very deceiving at best.  Would not buy a dog from pic's alone and would definitely want to see him for myself.

Overall conformation looks good to me but again would want to see for myself.  Best of luck  Nan

PS:  LOve his head and beautiful expression;  like his softer eye...reminds me a little bit of Voodoo Hartis Bohemia which has always been a fav of mine.  N

In the 'better Stack' pic the rear hind close the camera is placed quite far back to make the arch look straight.

ITS ALL IN THE STACK....

Yes I understand and agree to the video thing, no video no deal. In regards to money payment I have a Ukrainian friend here who can do payment arrangements through her parents in Ukraine, I am from Jordan (Middle East), we have few very good work line GSDs but not any high quality show lines who are really breed worthy. I personally think such a dog if it was to be bought from Germany it would be triple the price, I can get this dog at a very reasonable price, he is of very good type, but I could be wrong and that is why I am asking for opinions. Some of above stacks exaggerate the slope of back and croup, croup might be steep but not as exaggerated in some of the pics.

Ibrahim,  he is attractive, but I don't see anything special about

him - and I really don't know about the Moldovan 'scene', what the

competion was like, etc.

Because I agree with Hired Dog and Sunny and because I don't

see anything so compelling to override their concerns, if it was me

I'd give this one a miss.  {+  Can't help wondering also about the 'sales

technique' in posing the dog in front of a handler who is showing so

much of her own charms !}.

Ibrahim, I think his hips are good, I can't see the elbow films well enough to comment.

I think this is a nice dog, but not an exceptional dog. What would be your plans for him? I like black dogs, BUT I think that in order for black dog to do really well in the SV world on either side of the pond, it is going to need to be heads above the rest of the competition. The black and reds are the darlings of the German show world. That might not be an issue in your country? I am also thinking he might not have a very harsh coat, it looks to be rather flat and on the softer side, but that's hard to judge from pictures. His structure looks good to me; I don't see any obvious problems on either end.

If you feel that he could do well in your country and if you like the dog, then you should probably think about buying him. He doesn't have that big head you seem to like, is a bit more feminine than a dog like Larus,  and he looks more athletic than most of the dogs you seem to favor. Of course you know I would like to see a straight back line, but his really isn't all that bad IMO. I like his ears set and darker eye and find him an attractive dog. I myself would prefer a more masculine look to a male without his being overdone. This to me isn't a dog I could idenfity as a male from acrossed the room.

Buying a mature dog is a wise idea, but it can drive you crazy when  you can't see and interact with the dog in person. Good luck with your search. My last 2 GSD's have been adults and I really liked them, but I had the advantage of being able to meet them before I took them home.

Hi Khalid,

I am good at theory, in real life GSD I haven't been lucky so far, I may know a bit more about structure, but buying and raising GSDs I know you all are much better than me. I like the GSDs I can not afford, I don't know what to do in order to have a nice one. Believe me Khalid, I am being honest

Nans GSD,

I read and understood all your points, also Hired Dog and dragonfry, I will raise all those concerns with the owner and see what reply I get.

I won't be able to go see dog in person, I can have friends visit and check him. I do not know the owners. I will ask for a video.

We do not have branch for SV or FCI, I do not even need the registration papers, at least not at present. We only make shows for fun, we have no official shows, titles etc, not yet. We have no breeders who can provide registration papers

Blitzen,

I know it is difficult for you to understand our situation which is a lot different. In Jordan you can say we do not have SV nor FCI, no official shows, we import puppies and adults, but we've been getting the left overs from Germany. We hardly have any dogs worth breeding. In previous threads I got advice to buy a mature dog that has good hips and elbows and with a title, and that is what i am trying to do, to buy a good quality one from Germany would cost us a fortune, this dog's price is right for us.

Well thats the bitter taste of life - You always want what you cant get easily - I know you are completley honest and I have deep respect for you. I would suggest you continue your research and surley you will come across somthing that is more striking in both ways (quality and affordebillity). Importing from germany is far expensive and you should consider other european countries but be very carefull.

Good Luck

Ibrahim,

All things considered I think I would pass, I think you could find a better prospect for a breeding program and a much safer transaction.

Best wishes my friend,

Two Moons.
