Again thank you for the positive comments. MY good friend ,now deceased, Dr. William Redlich who was also a German and AKC judge, said the name of the GSD in the USA should be changed to the American German Shepherd!! Perhaps he was right.

Richard Medlin IS correct in that many are "seeing the light" but it has been in my case a 40 year struggle but again we all must have "breed responsibility" and do what is correct.

The Judge--Bunch--I was told after the fact that he was receiving tremendous pressure not to do anything with the "import". I was foolish to show and had I known this I would not have. The small ring and with Nino being so powerful and looking for me the handler could not control him. Even so if I had been judging he could have walked backwards in the ring and still go best of breed. There was Nino and then there were just dogs.

I once show my great German Junghund Siegerin --Am. Ch. Canadian Grand Victrix and Canadian Siegerin ATRICE VON KLAMMLE before she finished her Am. Championship needing 1 point.

My best friend a German --Hans Engels-- showed her and she was dead last in a class of 15 open bitches.

When it was over he went to the woman judge and asked her what was wrong with her--he told her she was the German JHKL Siegerin--she said --"see i knew she was either the best or the worst as she was completely different than the rest"

That my friends is the "end of the story" as Paul Harvey said and we continue on today!!!

Key people such as Jim and Sherri Moses saw him and were duly impressed and they are looking for and putting up "standard dogs". As will other KNOWLEDGABLE JUDGES.

WE ARE PROGRESSING--keep the faith!!

Thanks,

Morton

Thank you Dr. Goldfarb. Years ago we took our German working line dog to AKC conformation classes, just for the experience. The initial reception was less than cordial, but her upbeat attitude & presence did soften some minds.

We were able to watch Nino on the live streaming video at the sieger show and he looked magnificent. He must be even more so in person!

Change takes time, thank you for persevering...

Slowly but surely, minds in the AKC show ring are changing.  Slowly.

We own/exhibit both US show line dogs, and import GSDs .

We are currently campaigning our Italian import Kappo von Eisenwerk, in the AKC system.

He needs only 3 single points to finish his AKC Championship.  We are of course very excited.

It is no easy feat to campaign an import dog in the AKC system, but it can be done!

He has garnered both 4 point majors under GSDCA Specialty Breeder-Judges.

He is winning under both US, and Foreign judges in the All Breed ring.

Even many of the long time , hard core icons of our breed are seeing the need to

expand our gene pool, as well as reward good solid dogs that represent the WHOLE Standard,

not just one part of it.   As Dr. Goldfarb mentiioned, Jim and Sheree Moses are among those that

understand this.  There are many others as well!

This is very encouraging.

We are thrilled to see Dr. Goldfarb, and others like-minded, bringing sound , solid, excellent representatives

of the breed to the USA.  We welcome them , we applaud them.   It would seem a great many people are welcoming them, too.

Stay the course.

Good things are happening.

Best regards.

Victory,

Congratulations; lovely dog, best of luck!

Congratulations! I really wish more would show their German dogs at AKC shows. Please let us know when you finish your boy.

My AmBred AKC CH is only 1/8 German, but I do try to do "German things" with her too. She has her AD and her BH, and some AKC OB degrees. I think it's so important to breed for dogs that can compete in different venues. Good luck! May I ask the area where  you show him? I'd like to see him if I can.

I just looked at his pedigree here. IMO he really is a lovely dog with the right topline to do well in the AKC ring and you picked a good judge to show him under.

Thank you SO MUCH Blitzen, and Pioneer Wife, you guys are so kind.

Yes we will post when he finishes.  (You will probably be able to hear me jumping up and down and

pretty much losing it, LOL)    He has be very well received, by a variety of judges, even those who

didn't originate in the GSD breed.   He is always funny. We never know if we will get the "Good Kappo" or

the "Evil Twin" who likes to grab my Husband's pants leg , on the down and back, LOL

He is always entertaining.

We are having a great deal of fun showing him . Better still, he is a tremendous ambassador for the breed.

He will greet , sit in laps  (uuuuuuuufffffff!) steal hats and sample beers if allowed to sneak a taste.

He has a fondness for children,  and pretty much anyone that wants to come and talk to him.

We are blessed.

Thank you again for your very kind comments.

Teeth Smile
