susie, was asked and answered blitzen already. You have some hangers on that page though. Teeth Smile

I didnt answer your question on what I would like to see as far as testing goes, pretty complicated for a quick answer. Besides I think we should split the breed and it would start there so not sure how to handle that.

Why is it complicated? There are overall appearance, genetics, and working abilities. Can´t be that difficult.

Gigante

by Gigante on 12 July 2014 - 17:07

If its that easy why is it failing?

Why is the dog losing ground in a working status.

susie

Still no answer...
The breed isn´t failing, people are.

" What do you with showlines do to determine breed worthiness before you breed a litter? "

This was Blitzen´s original simple question...
For me a "showline" is a German Shepherd bred to the German breeding rules,
for most Americans a "showline" is a dog bred to AKC rules, but even within AKC some breeders want to see different traits.

She simply wanted to know about personal requirements prior to breeding - but again, nobody seems to be interested.

In case you don´t believe in "showlines" at all, why do you even comment in the "CONFORMATION" section? Not very helpful...

Gigante

I would pose that question to you since : " Teeth Smile I´m not even a breeder..."  giggle,  but, that would seem argumentative.

I missed that post, sorry

People implement and train the test that is failing the breed. Ok, Failing... non the less

Im not the expert like you are, but to sit and say it works great while sliping from the rope, seems like the very best of "not very helpful"

Blitzen, If the goal is not to win but to participate as susie suggests, then find your best looking dog with a job and everyone can piss off. Thier shepherds... not even people have been able to ruin them into "no working ability" in total. Theres always sneeker's that pop through.

Enjoy the thread.

Gigante, knock off the rhetoric. I've showed  you mine, now you make your bones and show me yours.

All this BS crap because I ask a very straightforward question of SHOWLINE breeders ONLY in the conformation forum.

by Blitzen on 12 July 2014 - 20:07

Susie, I did receive some good responses privately, not many from members here, but how many showline people even read or post here anymore?

In case you need to "giggle" about a honest answer to a simple question, there doesn´t seem to be much fun in your "real" life.
In case you think a person needs to be a breeder for being allowed to discuss about breed worthiness - big "giggle" from me...
In case you are interested in this breed as a whole, change your attitude.

"Im not the expert like you are, but to sit and say it works great while sliping from the rope, seems like the very best of "not very helpful" ..."
Maybe you should READ and UNDERSTAND what people say - and afterwards respond, in case there is anything at all you have to say. Otherwise you are less than helpful. And up to now I didn´t read anything constructive from you in this thread.
I´m able to live with people who say someone is doing wrong, but I´m not able to live with people denigrating others, no matter what kind of dog they own or breed. Might be a result of education.

Only for the record: I´m not waiting for an answer any more, simply not interested any longer.

Gigante

Why are so many people here so angry?

While I appreciate your class on proper denegration:

there doesn´t seem to be much fun in your "real" life.

change your attitude.

Might be a result of education.

I dont recall attacking anyone, challenging your comment's.

Im sorry you a little B Hurt about my comment on expert status, but you keep saying how easy it is to breed dogs. I don't see anything easy about it. Its amazing difficult to get what you want.

I must be an idiot..... Yeah I know.

No need to wait for an answer indeed... You posed no question. But since you choose to attack me rather then my challenge my comments, I offer my rebuttal for free.  Wink Smile
