Koos is working the line. I just outed him from a distance. That was the 2nd day and 2nd round of obedience and Yes Koos is tough on the dogs. The first day Koos walked around the blind while Axel was doing the bark and hold and stuck his boot under Axel and flipped him out of the blind he did it 3 times in a row and each time Axel went right back into the blind with the helper Hans with out command. That was the 2nd pinch i used on Axel that day Koos broke the 1st one on him straightened the links straight out.  Any time Koos wantted to show something it was" Bob go get Axel". Koos told us at supper that nite that Axel was a perfect example of what many dogs lack and that was heart.

Bob, I love you and I have ZERO problems with ME correcting MY dogs, but, if someone broke a prong on my dog's neck while calling it a "correction"...proper decorum and several legalities prevent me from describing in detail what would happen next, but, I want to assure you, it wont be very fun. I can be the nicest guy you ever meet or the biggest DICK who ever existed and ones actions will dictate which person they get. This BS of "manly men" who call this training is not for me. Again, nothing personal towards you Bob, it was meant towards those who believe in these "corrections" on someone elses dogs.

Sunsilver, I am NOT soft, I believe in compulsion, I use an E collar and I have used a prong for over 3 decades, although I gave up on them a few years a go, HOWEVER, there is a HUGE difference between me correcting my dog, me who understands clearly why he is doing whatever BS he is doing at the moment and who KNOWS his temperament and someone who has never seen nor lived with my dog before who "thinks" they will impress everyone in attendance at my dog's expense...that will NEVER happen so long as I am there, ever, end of.

Sun:

It doesnt make you soft hearted.

Koos is not for the faint of heart thats for sure. But he works his own dogs exactley the same.

BZCZ: " Paco doesn't balance well. "

Maybe it´s not the dogs fault, he might be the result of the environment.
It´s sadden truth, but almost always the helpers do train dog after dog, but there is no good helper for their own dogs...I know well about this problem.
It´s almost impossible for your dog to stay ( or even be ) in defense, while the helper is the handler, that in itself is a lot of confusion for a dog.
I´m pretty sure-a skilled helper training for some months-and we would see a different dog.

Bob, your dog looks great! Compliment! (although I´d have killed Koos...)
