What does that mean to me?
White German Shepherds are beautiful dogs, but for me not the breed of choice. I´m looking for a different temperament ( please note: I didn´t say BETTER, I said DIFFERENT ).

Partial translation from an Argentinian video:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1yhQ5Caht6A
"A few years ago, I had the idea of training White Swiss Shepherds, at that time called White German Shepherds as guide dogs for the blind. I found them less prone to hip displasia, more calm, but also more sensitive or attentive to their owner's commands."

Then here, by another member:

I´m pretty sure the Swiss Shepherd as a whole is a better guide dog for the blinds than the German Shepherd dog. Makes sense to me.

Very interesting climbing that dog's family tree. There are lines to Rin Tin Tin, the Valliantdale black and silver dogs, and even Uran von Wildstieger Land, plus numerous other German dogs, as recently as the 5th generation. But mostly, as you can tell from her structure, it's the standard American show line dogs, with lots of Lance of Fran-jo. Her structure is very different from the Berger Blanc dogs pictured at the start of this thread, even if her more recent ancestry is white shepherd.

Oh, and here's a REALLY interesting tidbit from the 'back 40'!

Some breeds cross in some cases.
It is hard to enter your dog correctly when they do, but, I will help those that need the help.

The Belgian Tervuren and Groenendals as well as many others have this problem. At least in the AKC, they often organized the breeds by color, size, long and short hair, or texture of the hair, as in wire coated or smooth and rough.
(Even the Retrievers, Golden / Flat Coated and Curly coated ) The Name of the breed White Shepherd is descriptive of the coat, so, it is nice to have a category to place them in and be able to find them later, and look at them as a group.

Sunsilver & Yellowrose of Texas, the Full Page Interactive feature is a load of fun when we have the images of the dogs loaded in to look at the changes down the line :)
