For the Record

On September 25th, 2014 we were made aware of changes to our dog Rush's (Corado z Vetrovej lúky) Pedigree on this database.

The change was made by a member of this forum - on September 23, 2014.

Rush's title was adjusted to read SLOVAK POLICE K9 BREEDING STATION.

While Rush is currently on loan to the Slovak Police Breeding Station he is still Registered with the Canadian Kennel Club and Owned by Tony Nikl of Canczech Dogs.

For reasons (made aware to Moderators) the Pedigree was not changed back until today.

Adding the title of SLOVAK POLICE K9 BREEDING STATION was irresponsible, inaccurate, misleading and could cause a great deal of embarrassment to all of us at Canczech dogs as well as the Slovak Police Breeding Station and lead the integrity of everyone involved to be questioned.

Anyone having a legitimate concern regarding the unauthorized alteration of our dogs pedigree please feel free to contact me at 789kim@telus.net or Tony Nikl at czechmate1@shaw.ca

Thank you

For Canczech Dogs

Mr.Kim Moore

Kim, it was probably someone who thought they were being helpful, if that is where the dog has indeed

been located for a while !   Just goes to show people should be very cautious and make sure they get

their facts straight, before they go entering alterations to any other owners' dogs !  (It was not I, honest.)

There have been much worse adulterations to other peoples' dogs pedigrees on here over the years -

this was not maybe something to get 'em too bunched about ?

Hundmutter-

I am well aware of who it was that did it, and I suspect I know why they did it.

If it was to be helpful, it was being helpful to themselves. Think about it......

NO ONE should alter or adjust the Pedigree of someone else's dog unless they were specifically asked to do so.

I am not interested in debating this issue, my post was an informational one for the record only.

And anyone having concerns about our dogs pedigree can contact us as I have already stated.

Thank you

Kim

I agree, Kim. Why would anyone want to change a pedigree of a dog he or she didn't own? I would not like it either.

This is an open database and people can and do change pedigrees all the time. Ask Lineage. Without keeping it open people would not be able to fix dogs who lets say got their OFA back.

We have discussed numerous times locking the pedigrees but that isn't what the owner wants, he wants the pedigrees to remain open so all can change things if needed. Plenty of changes happen everyday but most are legit and the best thing to do if it isn't is change it back and PM who changed it and ask them not to do it again.

A couple of my own dogs have been entered here by others and one of mine was registered like 4 times with different variations on the spelling of the name. I just delete them when I find them and move on.

The pedigrees are a work in progress and have been contributed to by a lot of people who have added to them and still others who have edited them. If the pedigree edits were closed in no way would we have such a large collection of them. IMO.

Sorry this happened but I don't think it was done maliciously.

I used to have someone deleting my dog's pedigree several times a year (until they changed it so only the person who created the pedigree can completely delete it, thank you!).  I do manage several pedigrees for some friends who title their dogs but are not real web savvy, but only when asked to make the updates.  I don't get why someone would need to state where a dog is currently located as if it is a special title.  There are fields where you can enter current owner/contact/location information.

For the record , the person who altered the pedigree of our dog was sent a polite PM asking them to contact me prior to this post.

However, they seem to be too busy to respond with an explanation.

I know this (for the record) and I looked at the history, the member either hasn't had the time to read the PM or they haven't noticed a PM in their inbox. Either way it does not mean they are ignoring you or did this out of spite.
