This dog certainly isn't fixated on the equipment...he wants the man, and he'll take him in pieces or whole, and he makes it very clear.

Here's the only trial video I could find on Drago on youtube : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r66ykXIAqBE

Many people don't appreciate " good" strong suspicion and its value to the breed, in today's culture. In time past that type of dog( Otto) would score high in protection with "10" points in fight/courage. He would have gotten a lot of breedings, not so much today. Heck, many don't even know that fight/courage was graded in the past,  and think full grip, even if going for the ride is epitome.( and I am not degrading a full grip, but I like full hard grip that torques up if the decoy fight escalates.

I think we have to wait a little longer to see Drago's contribution to the breed, in conjunction with his stamping distinctive traits to his progeny. I really think you have to see three year old progeny to get feel for what he's imparting.

going out on a limb here - at this point we can agree (internet knowledgelly) that drago produces;

a distinctive, recognisable and good type

athleticism

stable in the brain

calm full grips

high drive

trainablility

pathetic whiney girl-dog barks.

no evidence yet (does not mean it's not there) for;

territorial-ness

sharpness

willingness to take it to the ground-ness

search and destroy-ness

V, Lol.....How did you come up with those conclusions?

..I 'be been reading this thread from the beginning and there has only been a few comments posted about Drago progeny. There are many really nice progeny you just have to know who to talk to about them.

VK, Lets not forget also, that according to the scores on that video, he sucks at tracking. Isn't that a pretty important part of Sport or IPO?   Wink Smile

BlkMal. just by looking at that video, I have to agree with you. Nothing to get excited about, hummmm, "he's an ok type dog".  I didn't see that fire in him I thought I would see from listening to some of Drago's fans. But that is only one dog.  Hopefully there are others that are better, but on the flip side, we will never see the ones that are just not cutting it.

I was seriously looking at a few Drago pups. I like what he seems to throw female wise not so much the males.  Its interesting when you watch the few clips there are of him he does not seem like much of a screamer.  Infact I have heard from someone that met him that he is more of an old fashioned type GSD.  Also, his obedience seems very flat in the vids..  Yet the progeny all seem to work almost exclusively in prey.  Not sure why its so hard to find vids of him working.

There are however many vids of progeny, and he clearly does not produce shitters.  Does he produce superior dogs?  I dont know.
