Defensive?  You certainly have your unique perspective on every post don't you :)  I simply pointed out that I think you're a bit funny in that you find one tiny piece out of somebody's post and then put your little spin on it and say, "see, i'm smarter than everybody else"  LOL  Completely disregarding the meaning or intent of the post.  I'm not sure at this point if it's intentional or not.

anyway, I'm not buying dogs or evaluating them unless they're in front of me. I don't need one from Germany, there are plenty right here that have everything they have.   If someone shows up and wants to tell me something I know i'm going to go tell him to get his dog out and work it.  Scorebooks rank pretty low for me.  Seems pretty simple, if I have to part with money or give an opinion, i'm going to see the dog, you can look at a score book.

I don't care if there are 6 months or 6 years between titles.  I'm not going to try and figure out if they guy had a knee replacement, or if he left a club, or his wife died and he got out of training or moved or maybe it just took that long to train his gutless mutt.  I'll have that figured out in about 5 minutes after he gets it out of the truck.  I don't care if he did, or did not trial at a regionals or ever stepped foot off his home field, if he even has a home field.  I'll be able to see what the dog has.

Anyway, don't call me buddy, we're not, and it's really weak as an insult or antagonist, whichever you were trying to do.  You didn't answer anything about my dog.  You basically said the same thing I said in my first post that if a dog is scoring well in big time trials, chances are the dog is noteworthy.  Gee, thanks for that LOL  and even if, show me the dog and I'll tell you.  Show me a scorebook and I'll tell you to go back and get your dog :)

Zdog,

Maybe you should reread your own post.  I answered the only questions you had on there.

Of course your not defensive.

again, not worth my time to deal with all of your rant.

Here is my 2 cents on the Drago off spring and what I like about them.   Keeping in mind, I have no IPO or the like experience, nor do I have experience with "hard" or "high drive" dogs.

For me, it is their appearance.  Everytime I see a Drago off spring, I always stop, stare, and think, WOW, that is a great looking GSD.  It seems that he throws a consistent look.  The other thing I like, and it seems to be consistent in all videos that I see of different off spring, is that the dogs are always smiling, even in the bite work.  Their happiness reaches their eyes and mouth.  It is just something about their attitude.

Learning that not all of his off spring are "hard" or "high drive" dogs, gets my attention even more, as that is the dog I like.  (not to mention, he can throw a black GSD)

of course its not worth your time, but it's more than worth it to come back and try and be cute.

I"m sure almost every other person reading this thread gets what my question was when I asked you what it told you about my dog.  and here comes matt, well it tells you what judges you trialed under and what clubs you trialed at, gee thanks for the info.  LOL  Like I said, you find whatever meaning you want to, and then try and show everyone why you think you're smarter than everyone else.

I answered your questions and since you obviously didn't understand my answer, that's ok. I'll make it clearer for you.

Those who get it get it and those who don't never will.

Good to know where you fit on the scale

Fawn,

No dog out there always produces high drive or hard dogs.  The mother line is responsible for anywhere from 50 to 80% of the pups behavior depending on who you talk to/believe.

Drago has produced some nice pups but we are at that point in his stud career that we should start seeing some of them hitting the trial fields.  Then we'll start getting a better picture of who Drago really is.

OK here is my Drago son Earining his IPO3 at Regional Championships....

for the scorebook question:

IPO1 289 at my home club field

IPO2 7 hours away in PA 286

All before his 3rd birthday...Now on to the Nationals in 2 weeks :-)

Nice job Frank!

Now tell me that scorebook info doesn't add more to the pic of Frank's dog.  Be even better if we knew which judges but even as is, it tells us alot.

For the timing, I appreciate this thread.  As you said, we are at the point that we start seeing the "real" grown up dog, not just a nice looking puppy.  It is these threads that help me start learning if these are really dogs I can have in my life or if they are dogs that, once they grow up, I figure out they are too much of a dog for me.  Regular Smile
