Right question...is it okay if I but in here and tell you three to quit with all this so immature back and forth my dog is better than your dog? Grow up man!!! This reads like a kiddies playgrond scrap...jeez, go read over it and tell me I'm wrong. If you guys don't like each other/can't agree......move on. Any further nonsense will be deleted, pathetic!!!!!!!!!

by vk4gsd on 16 January 2015 - 11:01

i have already moved on.

There is meat to the thread. What if it was re-titled? ''This is why dog people need to be vigilant''.............. It is not that long ago that Europe developed many breed specific laws. Certain breeds were out right banned. Laws were invoked for ear and tail docking. No more stick hits in IPO? Is it a stretch  not see that on other continents? A strong organization for individual breeds and the dog fancy is needed. If we do not hang together, we will certainly hang seperately. The debate here is not who is right but who is running the Asylum

Just to clarify, i am sure people involved in showing take care and love a dog as much as i do.

When we purchase a dog that does not perform as espected or has DM or HD its bad luck we are still dealing with living creatures. Efforts are made within the community of such breed to erradicate these  fair enough. We still have a choise.

When breed standards are driven to extreem, physical aspects like a short mozzle (frenchbulldog), head to small to fit its brain( king c cavelier) etc. thats an other matter. Do we really think that a orinally working breed like the english bulldog was ment to be born unnaturally.cause its head is to big?

It is so difficult to discuss the ridiculousness of the actual  topic that the premise had been subconsciously  changed to making illegal such deformed dogs. But:  Just a reminder. The topic is not just about that such dogs should be illegal but that all "showing  world should be illegal."

I am getting to the point and believe that Vk4gsd is posting these just to generate a  rise out of people  and we all fall in that trap and he is just enjoying it. As Charles  Barkley said: "I may be wrong - but I doubt it. "

by Blitzen on 16 January 2015 - 16:01

I can't believe I'm saying this, but I agree with Hans. vk loves to stir the pot and we fall into his trap every single time trying to show him the error of his ways.

That the show world should be illegal...because of the deformed dogs being produced which posted pic at being of the thred. That's why I said he is advocating the entire show dog population be punished for the actions of a very miniscule group. Then he suggested a world wide contract which all working dog breeders must be forced to abide by in order to eliminate those perverse breeders of deformed dogs....ludicrous suggestion for numerous reasons. I think vk-pete really believe what he posts....too much isolation and no point of reference for the way the real world functions, plus way too much free time on his hands allowing him to conjure up weird ideas.

VK is smart, his questions are provoking, but the content always makes sense, it´s just exaggerated - and out of our responses he knows how we "tick".
Not stupid at all....
Student, you are right, in case people are not able to handle something correctly, there will be laws sooner or later - that´s common sense.
It´s blue-eyed to believe in morality and honesty.
