Jen, I think this is a very good example for people looking for a breed based on 'pretty' to learn from. It's also educational in learning who winds up with dogs not suitable and why so many are not retained by owners. I love the looks of the weim, but I have enough sense and experience to realize it is not a breed for me. I love hunting breeds, but I also want a dog, at this stage of my life, that is trainable, biddable but can and will hunt and retrieve if I want. My terriers were great hunters, but they'd rather swallow the game than turn it over. They were dogs with tremendous heart and drive and were fearless. They had it all but would be too much dog now at my age...time changes everything. Fawn might dig down inside and pay attention to experience rather than letting her emotions get in the way.
