with that type of dogs Haz it is often the case that they are allowed to much to long, these dogs can be corrected by good handler who is 100 % clear and honest to the dog, total black/white in handling and teaching the dog that attacking the owner is not bringing him anything good ever

Haz you probably did not mean to make a double post but I am leaving it because what you said is worth being said and read twice.

The question, than, Duke and Haz, is, who do you sell a dog like that to? If you were to keep it, can you trust it fully? Would you feel safe to have it interact with your family?

by Blitzen on 10 April 2015 - 16:04

This is probably another stupid question from a stupid show person - do dogs like Haz's and duke's examples have bad temperaments or are they just too much dog for the handler/trainer?

by duke1965 on 10 April 2015 - 16:04

I had several dogs like that Hireddog one was fully trained SWAT dog that handlers were afraid of in the end, turned out to be an awesome and honest dog that I placed as a  demo dog with a well known american K9 center where he is loved and appreciated

another one I placed in Israel  for antiterrorist dog, but you have to look very good were to place them

Blitzen these dogs are strong dogs with bad imprinting/training

Poor temperaments or too much dog is the OP's question, duke. Does it depend on who is asked? Would the buyers say they had bad temperaments if they were afraid of the dogs? Would the breeders say too much dog for that particular buyer?

by duke1965 on 10 April 2015 - 16:04

the people who I get these dogs from usually blame the dog Wink Smile

Sounds like the same problems we encountered in the show world, duke. If the dog doesn't turn out to be exactly as the buyer thinks it should, it's never about the way it was trained or raised, it's always about the way it was bred.

Duke said; 'with that type of dogs Haz it is often the case that they are allowed to much to long, these dogs can be corrected by good handler who is 100 % clear and honest to the dog, total black/white in handling and teaching the dog that attacking the owner is not bringing him anything good ever'

Interpret to read; these dogs can be corrected by a good handler who is 100% longer and measures everyday to achieve courage to handle a dog that hates him. :-) lololol
