I have a training question to ask...it is I imagine a rather simple training question.  I want to first thank everybody for all the help I have been given with my last two posts concerning breeder recommendations and my Kado's parent's pedigree.  I have officially sent the breeder money so that I can get the replacement registration papers and I can finish getting him registered.

I am currently working to get Kado and myself ready to test for CGC.   After we get our CGC I will be furthering his training in schutzhund, competitive obedience and would like to try him in a dog show.  I have found a plce in Houston that qualifies to test us for CGC and also teaches competitive obedience, showing, rally-o, agility and some tracking.  I am going to take their obedience 1 class in order to help me learn how to get Kado to focus on me in public and to help improve the heel as I have gotten dogs to stay next to my side but not to stay so close to my side and looking up into my face.  :/.

That being said my Kado is the best dog I have ever owned.  He is the only dog I have ever had that isn't startled by loud sudden noises (like the vacuum etc) and he is so smart and wants to please.  When we go in public he is nice and friendly-neither overly excited to see people nor is he shy- but the problem comes when he sees another dog.  Now mind you I do NOT think he is aggressive towards dogs.  He starts out growling and barking with his scruff a little up at which it starts with him whining and talking really LOUD and trying to pull over to the other dog.  I can get him to lay down but then he is immediately up trying to go to the dog again.  Now the reason I know he isn't aggressive to them is because I have a dog sitting business and we just had our first dog stay with us.  He acted the way I described when he first saw her and the evening she came I spent trying to calm him.  I ended up putting him in the kennel and covering it with a blanket til he calmed, then uncovered the kennel and left him til he calmed, then I brought him out on his leash and did not allow him to greet her right away but rather took him out to go relieve himself and worked on his commands.  When I had him better paying attention to me I let him meet her and by the next morning he was off the leash and they were playing.  My problem is I would like to eliminate the calming him down part altogether and I am not sure if I am approaching this right or how I should go about working with him on this.  It can be intimidating for people who doesn't know him and we won't be able to do what I want with him if I can't get more control in those situations.  It is just when there is another dog and he seems to just want to play.  Another concern is I don't want us to get kicked out of obedience class cuz he is causing too much of a rucus.  Can someone tell me how I should go about dealing with this.  I imagine the way he approaches also can instigate fights with other dogs too so...

also might as well ask this too.  When my kids play they are little and want to run around and scream...all that fun stuff.  Usually Kado is pretty good and will grab his ball or rope and trot back and forth with them.  Sometimes he gets too excited and starts grabbing the kids arms.  He doesn't bite down but it can hurt and obviously the kids don't like it.  I want him to do Schutzhund and so don't want to mess anything up but how would I go about and handle him grabbing my kids with his mouth?

sorry for the long post.
