I love the Malinois.

As one who has been around alot of Mals they are not all they great. You can have a litter of 10 and maybe 2-3 will be very good while the rest will not, You also see alot of nerve problems in Mals, the good ones have very strong nerves but may don't. You also see a variety of sizes from the smaller framed good working size to oversized. I like Mals fine but don't be fooled into thinking they are without their own problems. AND please... this is what I have observed from my own expereince so don't jump on me with exceptions etc... Just my own observations I am sharing.. :)

Shelley Strohl

I do think the market is slow right now. It may be partly because of th weather, at least in my area (Northeast) but also due to the huge number of breeders of sub-standard GSD's. As I browse the internet, and many of the breeders' websites, it astounds me both how many there are, are the lack of quality of the dogs they are breeding. I ALWAYS go to the "About Us" page (if there is one) first. Some of the BS I read just depresses the hell out of me, and if that doesn't do it, a little trip through the "our dogs" (or whatever they call them) pages really ruins my day. Most of these people are charging as much or more for their puppies as I am, but cutting corners at every turn, starting and ending with their so called "breeding stock." SS

Shelley You are correct but unfortuntely a large number of people buying GSd's don't know what they are buying and in many cases the website is far superior to the dogs being bred. I just noticed in a local paper pups with lines out of a well known American Show lines and the main selling point was how large the pups would grow up to be. I know I am not telling you anything you did not already know...

"many cases the website is far superior to the dogs being bred" It's not really that expensive to either hire someone to build you a decent website or that complicated to learn to do it on your own. While I do think that the lines will speak for themselves it is only yourself you are cheating if you don't present those lines well. Same goes for marketing of virtually anything from toilet paper to bread.

Wanderer: Since you mentioned the price of gas it made me have to comment on this new E-85 gas option some of the new vehicles have. I just bought the new Chrylser Aspen SUV; it runs on both regular gas and E-85. Since I've been hearing so much about how cheap the E-85 is I thought I'd give it a try. I paid $1.89 per gallon for E-85 gas as opposed to $2.49 for reg. $1.89, can you believe it?? I aint seen $1.89 since the 90's. lol The downside to E-85 is not too many gas stations have it so it's a little inconvenient for now. But hey, for $1.89/gal. I'd drive an extra 10 miles to fill up.

Yea but you are driving up the price of corn which is driving up the price of food including beef. The poor mexicans in Old Mexico are about to revolt over the price getting so high. lol

I think the back non existance of back biting, says it all. WE ARE ALL FED UP, and if someone would just tell the truth, we would all vote no matter the party.

Agar, you need to check into the myth about ethynol. You'll be paying for it with higher food prices, but it is more heavily subsidized, by your tax dollars, than oil. It's another one of those feel good things the politician try to fool you with. Your paying for it coming and going.
