Sorry for my spelling. Like I said. No one ever accused me of being the brightest light bulb on the Christmas tree :) Poor lost Abhay: Not to beat this dead horse any longer, but here is a link you can go to and read up on the "Red Nose" strain of Pit Bull Terriers. http://www.bryantsreddevils.com/ and another: http://www.pitbullsoforegon.com/rednosed.html Here is also a link where you can read up on the Mugleston's. http://muglestonspitbullfarm.com/ There is an ' between the n and t in don't, also in the word didn't. I'm not much of a traveling man, but if you want to bring your German Shepherd to Ohio, I guarantee I can come up with a Pit Bull that he will beat the snot out of your German Shepherd before you can rescue him, unless you are quicker than I think you are. I'll just call my cousin Ronny in Kentuck :) Ya'll a good day. Hell, have a good year. It's on me:) The coons in your neck of the woods must really be sissy's :)

WHAT? im afraid to say this thread is due for a highjacking. im sure im not alone in my thinking that dog fighting, coon hunting, etc. are NOT included in the list of acceptable working dog traits that make a german shepherd breedable. as far as ruining a breed goes, dont worry we can still import more dogs from other countries to bring back the working ability. why not, we have many a good dog in this country now and still want to import. jmo john

Yep. I liked old Will a lot. He didn't make stuff up. I proved you wrong about the Red Nose strain of Pits. Everyone reading this knows I did, if they went to my links, especially the second one. You apparently have 'some' knowledge about Pit Bulls, so I will not embarass you anymore. You just don't happen to 'remember' the most famous and most prolific strain of fighting dogs ever to exist in modern times. You mentioned all of those 'other' strains that have red noses now and then. That is because they came from crossing with the Red Nose strain, which came from the Old Family Reds, which probably came originally from Ireland (did I mention that I am an Irish/German mutt?). I had red nose Pits, my family had red nose Pits, thousands of people have red nose Pits or crosses with them now. Your "best Pit Bull that ever lived" was either a Red Nose or a cross with a Red Nose. I guarantee it, or he wasn't all that. Why are we arguing about this? Is it because you hate to lose? Well, so do I. But, ya lost dude. Live with it. Now go feed them dawgs, so they don't have to eat racoons. Geesh. Next thing you will be telling me is how your GSD beats up wolves and Puma's. Oh, and quit asking for my address. I am not impressed nor intimidated. You have no intention of bringing your shepherd here to fight a Pit Bull. If you do, I feel sorry for you and your dogs. I lied about it. Not because I don't think the Pit will win. It will, easily. But because dog fighting is sick. You can send me an email or virus through this web site, if you are so inclined. I truly am done with you now. You can't see the forest for the trees. Even if you have 35000 acres of land, which I seriously doubt, but don't need proof of, because, frankly my man, I don't care one way or the other. Anybody with 100 dogs or so and that much property could not possibly be on the internet all friggin night arguing with me. You are either lying or dreaming. Yep, I said it. Now beat me up. Better yet "beam me up Scotty, there is no intelligent life down here" :) Man, I have to quit doing this. One of you really tough guys is actually going to get me someday. Oh well, no one lives forever.

OMFG...using the term "professional" and "dog fighter" in the same sentence is the most absurb, ignorant thing I've ever heard!!! Having worked with vets and humane societies throughout my life, I've witnessed the devistation of dog fighting!!! Short Story: While living in Whithall Ohio, neighbor had several pits & pit/mixes. 3 of them jumped my fence and went after my kids. they were lucky enough to reach my vehicle and get inside before the dogs got to them. My male GSD at the time, jumped out of a 2nd story window, onto a carport, then onto the ground to defend his humans. By the time I got outside (less then 1 min...had to load the gun) my male had killed one. Yes, my male was injured. Like the "pansy" owner that I am, I got in the middle of it, (with the help of my husband), grabbed my male, and shot the other 2 dogs!!! I felt horrible for having to do that!!! A few months later..my neighbors son walked out of his house with a 2x4, and stuck my male over the back while my kids were taking him for a walk. (luckly his was not seriously injured and MY dog was on a leash). My kids ran home screaming and yelling (with dog in tow) and this idiot followed them onto my property. This young man was "suppose" to be some big badass in the neighborhood, was in jail, did some serious time for killing a man in a fight....however, was no match for my 12g shotgun in his face!!! I do not pretend to be a badass, know it all...but I am a mother and a dog owner. I do not put "booties" on my dogs, but do not wish them to be outside in below 0 weather. They sleep in my house and sometimes in my bed. It is not 100% the job of my dog to protect my family...it's my job to protect him! As with my kids, they didn't ask to be on this earth, that was my choice! And I will to everything in my power, even die, to protect them!

Hope you take this the right way but I am getting alittle worried about you. You seem to be going thru a tough time or maybe depression? I ask this because you seem to have the need to build yourself up on how strong you are and have been all your life. This is a sign of someone having self-esteem problems or depression. I do like having you on this board and please accept this email in a friendly way and if you need help please get it. I have had elderly family that went thru depression and had alot of issue like this but once they went to a doctor and received help they returned to being a more happy friendly person as they had been in the past. Your friend DR

by Do right and fear no one on 10 March 2007 - 16:03

DR: I am assuming you are not referring to me :) Either way, I appreciate your concern about a fellow human being. LadyWolf: My father lived in Whitehall, a suburb of Columbus. I spent some time there, but not much. It has been many years. All I can remember is the White Castle on a street, I believe may have been called Greenlawn or something like that. Haven't been there since 1984. Even though my father lived there, it was a crudy area around his home, near the White Castle. He was poor and left me when I was six. But that's another story. I do want to clear up one string left dangling from this tit-for-tat with Abhay. As many of you know, I collect comic books, invest and speculate in them. Don't read them much but do read about them a lot. Anyway, I have a tendency to spell Pit as Pitt because I also visit web sites a lot about comic book collecting and investing and one of the comic book characters is called "Pitt", and he is loosly based on the Pit Bulls. He is an ugly bad ass. Just wanted to clarify that. P.S. DesertRanger: If you WERE referring to me about the depression, you are half correct. Since my jerk youngest son moved out (at 25 years old) recently, I and my wife are on cloud nine, but I have been down lately with all of the recent deaths in my family. My pet deer Kobe (who is probably dead), the former police dog Norris, who I rescued from mistreatment and he only lived about 4 weeks or so with me, my vicious dog "South" who I had put down because he wanted to attack every child he saw, and the fact that April 15th (tax day) is almost upon us, and finally: the real possibility that Hillary may be our next President :) We should all be depressed about now. But, cheer up folks. I have a plan. I am going to pig out on chocolate today. I suggest we all do that, just today :)

by ProudShepherdPoppa on 10 March 2007 - 17:03

Getting back on topic, I personally, (as well as most on this board) have made a HUGE investment in time and money to make my dog the best she can be, not to mention the fact that she is a beloved member of my family. I really do not want to see her possibly hurt or maimed because some IDIOT lets his dog attack her and I do carry insurance (in an ankle holster) to make sure that this does not happen. I also feel that with the title of "pack leader" comes the responsibility of protecting that pack. If this is ruining the breed then so be it.
