I have been "doctoring" my boy's nose for about three years now, using "Bag Balm" as recommended, with little success. His nose has been thick, dry and cracked, especially in winter, but never really got all the way better in summer. Well, I am in the midst of this move, landing at my Aunt's house in Florida while trying to find a place to live and the balm was packed and couldn't be found. I started using pure coconut oil on his nose and within 4 days, his nose is as soft as a puppy's nose! I am absolutely blown away by the fact that it worked, but even more by how FAST it worked. And BTW, he used to hide when I got out the green can of Bag Balm and he LOVES the coconut oil, he runs TO me! Seriously, if you have a dog with a dry nose, go get some coconut oil, like yesterday!

Try rubbing coconut oil on it and add some to the food about a teaspoon. I have used it on my male and it seems to be helping

Think about thyroid function in older dogs, diet, and digging. Keeping their nose in the dirt digging will dry out their nose. Foods rich in animal fats can't hurt. Thyroid function has a huge range of skin and coat problems associated.

Yes Nan, my cousin said if you mix some with sea salt, you can use it as a body scrub and it leaves your skin really soft. I'm going to try it, I'll let you know.

Also good for your hair and scalp as well as the dogs. You can't go wrong. Nan
