Too funny... you think other dogs are not double handled?
Frankly, I couldn't care less about the winners under, what in my opinion, is a poor judge... good luck to them... they have a worse one next year!
Interestingly, there's no mention of temperament checking
Who makes these half assed decisions at the KC?

Perhaps it would be a good idea if all dogs (identifiable) were required to pass health tests before being allowed to enter the show.
Now theres an idea.

When is Crufts? Here in Chicago, they showed on TV, German Shepherds Exposed. If this is the wrong name of it, my apologies. It was filmed at the Crufts show, and putting the German dog in a bad light. This is the first time that I saw this on TV.
I had to turn it off because they showed The German dog,
as a cripple and really spouting a bunch of lies about the dog.
I hope I did not hijack this post, but it just seems odd that the KC will crucify the German dog and look the other way at the Alsatian, and are now trying to brainwash people here on this side of the pond who don't know any better if they do not own a German Shepherd!

What our 'correct GSD breed' here within the United Kingdom requires is very obvious, very necessary and also attainable,
as follows: To REGISTER all our GSD with the SV/WUSV though the GSD League of Great Britain and agree with the SV/WUSV that we continue with our GSD Regional Events and British Sieger Show under our very own dynamic and developing Rules & Regulations.
We can then adopt our very own set of Rules & Regulations, with the approval of the SV/WUSV and within British Legal requirements for the breeding our GSD, and for any other matter connected with our 'correct GSD breed' - here within the United Kingdom.
It can and it should be done, without any undue delay.

Hi Dawn, couldn't agree more with your sentiments and the program you are referring to is the same as the one I was referring to in my earlier post that was made in 2008. Now, what you probably didn't realise and need to know is that the filming of that program was made over two championship shows yet the commentary made it appear as if it was all filmed at Crufts, which it was not. Indeed, a lot of the dogs featured in movement didn't even take place at Crufts!!! So much for 'Unbiased' reporting eh!! As far as meaningful Health tests, the British KC are a joke, they will register anything, allow dysplastic dogs entry into the KC stud book and gain champion titles and then think arranging for one of their vets to check coats, ears, eyes and movement of a few 'targeted' breeds after they gain a BOB win at Crufts will actually show them in a good, caring light when it comes to breed Health!! Give us a break KC, plueeze. How naive do you think the majority of people are!!

Actually, Sue, the first bit of GSD footage is clearly captioned "Manchester Championship Dog Show" and it is accompanied by this commentary: "We asked a top orthopaedic vet to look at the footage of German Shepherds we recorded at a top championship show."
And then the commentary says: "We see much the same at Crufts two months later."

Without wishing to re-hash the same old same old... can you confirm that the "soundness issue" was based on the film footage of only 4 dogs please?

I believe that showing and breeding are two seperate things. The best animals in the show ring are not nessecarly the best animals to breed from just as the best breeding animals are not always the best in the show ring.
Just my opinion for what it's worth
