I give my dogs free, to the state police, and they want them at one year old, bubba IS correct.

If they wanted them earlier, they could have more of mine. If my pups stay for a year with me, they are not going any where. I DO get attatched to them.

For me, dogs are NOT disposable, and , I guess I fit more into the category of the millions of other dog owners that feel that their dogs are to be treated more as family members than tools or toys.

Taken out and put away when their time with you runs out.

I am very proud of my dogs, i myself think i have the best dogs in the world ! And my hope for my pups that I raise is that the homes they go into, also feel that they now have, the best dog in the world!

I won t send a dog to a home that 'puts their dog away at night, or, if it s not a convenient time for them'.

Dogs are living beings beings that deserve to be loved and cared for, beyond just feeding and housing them.

KitKat, thank you for your answer, it explains everything...

Bubba, I wont sit here and explain about the breeding program for Malinois at Lackland AFB, one of the biggest programs in the world, but, do a little research, then please tell us how many of those WL X SL dogs you come up with.

So were are assuming that just because the dog is a "police dog", that it is of a certain quality?

Because I have seen many "police dogs" that were horrendous.

I would like to see some video of the SL/WL police dogs out there.

Bubba, you cant cherry pick what responses you get and how to address them. YOU doubted that breeding programs exist that produce dogs for work, I furnished you some info on them, end of discussion. The fact is that Lackland had mostly GSDs at one point, long a go, but, then threads like this one started to appear, fanciers of the breed went in 17 different directions, hence, the largest breeding program to produce working dogs went to the Malinois, FOR A REASON.

I did ask you, how many of those WL X SL dogs you produced went to do police work, silence, I asked you where did those dogs go since you think that the dogs you produced that went to police work were not your best dogs, avoidance. See, we are talking about the theme of your thread,...show me the WORKING results of your program.

hn434, I agree, there are a lot of police dogs out there that are trash and I would love to see some of those videos too, CURRENT ones, not from 1970.
