Not sure how you are cataloging all this great help, but here is what I can offer exactly:

Outdoors - room for 2 dogs in separate kennels and 1 outdoor covered crate
Indoors - 1 room and 1 crate

Transportation will be in my truck; up to 3 at a time (2 of the dogs need to be ok riding in close quarters in the front)

Better for me to pick up / transport on the weekend.  I can do some last minute pick ups during the week, but that time will be around my work load schedule; best to have a back up plan just incase I can't do anything until the weekend.

I can help with creating a log or a tracking system.  It would be PC based (no MAC availability).

Still thinking out the Dog Sponsor concept.  I should have some ideas and questions put together for you and Steph by Monday.

--- > Not sure how you are cataloging all this great help,

Actually, I am so organized I am scaring myself!!! LOL! If I didnt have everything in order, I wouldnt have been able to act so quickly with Sarge. I have a state by state list of everyone who volunteered, with exactly what they said they could do. When I heard from Steph about Sarge, I quickly looked up who was the closest to WV and I saw that Melissa was in NC, I mapquested the distance and saw it could be doable. I looked at what she wrote, ad saw she could handle a dog with drive. I looked at the puter and said "Thank you, God".. LOL!

I will add what you just posted to my list. I redo it each time someone adds their name so it will always be in order, state by state :) Thanks so much :)

Admin and participants

Should I post the PDB Rescue Team list on this thread, until we get the forum? That way if anyone finds a GSD in an urgent situation, as Sarge, Camille, Sonya and Amber were, they will be able to get in contact with our PDB Rescue Team to see if there is anyone near them and exactly what these people can do?

(50 miles north of Sacramento) I can usually get one to pull a dog out of the Los Angeles kill shelters if immediate transport up here can be arranged.

I can also offer layovers to transporters. Right now its just a sofa in my living room here on the prune farm, but I am planning to furnish one of the spare bedrooms for a guest room in the near future and put up two more chain link kennel runs. I have two rescues now, looking for forever homes, but there's always room for an overnight at Haus Roecker. I can handle high drive working dogs, pregnant bitches, neonatal whelps, pretty much anything a GSD can throw at me.   Blitzen Florida Tampa Bay area Transport   BoCRon (Annette) Atlanta Ga Count me in. Are you guys going 501 (c) 3, or not? I can only tap into a larger, more reliable funding source, if it is a 501 (c) 3. You might be able to get another organization to act as fiduciary until the IRS determination is made. There are pros and cons, that has been discussed. The way I see it is, Marj or PdbAdmins, dba Pdb/Rescue/Hero's, file for status, they are coordinators only in their mission statement, so they avoid the actual problem of insurance for problem animals.  "We" give to them, they give to the network.

That works for me.

The difficult dogs can be pulled in my rescues name, Montana German Shepherd/Belgian Malinois Rescue, since I am NOT 501c3, you won't be liable should something happen.
Steph

Marjorie, I think you do need to be a 501c3, get all of us on the board that will go for the dogs only, then you can get all the funding you need, use my rescue for the tough ones, so you don't get into trouble, you will need to get a $1 million liability insurance coverage though. And alot of other things...name for the rescue ETC!!!!! Maybe a meeting of the minds on a chat forum in the near future???
