...LOL okay Jenni you win.

I love the dramatics of the screen shot with no words of your own. Very good use of a subliminal message. However, my original post, the one you questioned doesn't mention a sane dog. But thanks for pointing my mistake out to me. You are obviously the superior being, I'm sorry to have wasted your time with my senseless dribble.

by Paul Garrison on 15 December 2012 - 00:12

Sorry Michael but the drama never ends.

No big deal Paul. If it was someone I respected or mattered (Slamdunc, Gustav, Bhall) to me it would be an issue but that's not the case here. I wish she would have added substance to the thread instead of worrying about who's mistakes she could point out next. I'm just the flavor of the day eventually she will lose interest and move on.

Wow, Michael, you have some ego. I have no idea who you are and don't recall ever reading your posts before. Sorry if I am forgetting something.

I merely pointed out where you said what you said that made me ask my original question. If you think that's dramatic and subliminal.......well...........carry on- I won't bother trying to help you (or anyone else who might have been confused) by asking a question so I understand what you're saying. As Aaykay said, I'm sure more people than just me did a double-take at that statement. I wish Brigit luck if you're so apt to find ulterior motives in people's honest questions. What Smile

No! You got called out for being a smart@ss and now that you have gone back and looked at what you wrote you feel dumb. I gave you an out and tried to patch it with you and you shunned me with your last post. Make it right or deal with it, I can forgive and forget the choice is yours.

by destiny4u on 15 December 2012 - 01:12

I honestly dont see how she was being a smart ass I think you are being a bit defensive. Just chill. On here the way people word things make things look worse than they are. You have said some rude things to her though.

Hi MichaelCox,

You have done great research concerning your quest to end up with the right dog for you. I commend you highly.

I know BHall both professionally and personally. I am her friend, my husband is her veterinarian. You have done well.

The original post was great. Very educational. But, even before "flipping" through the pages, I knew "something bad" was going to turn out here. Keep the personal cat fights out of it. This has been such good reading.
Michael, so glad you're getting a new family member. Can't wait to see pictures. Good luck and by the sounds of it, Brigit and Mike are going to take good care of you.
Keep us posted, Brandi

I agree Brandi, there always has to be some twist of drama to a post.

Ive evaluated a few hundred dogs over the years from shelters. The chance of getting one specifically for what Michael is looking for is slim, not impossible, but slim especially if the person is looking for a specific breed. Ive had a few but the stigma of someone buying a "shelter dog" overshadows the possibiliity of the dog going to a working home. Who is going to be proud to say their competition dog was from the shelter. Not too many....There has been some luck with small LE depts who are willing to take a chance on a dog but those too are slim because most small LE's Ive dealt with don't have the experience to train a dog to the level thats needed. Mostly what I find is byb's breeding A to B getting C and if the dog had a chance to be great, its sold to another pet home and messed up. If an evaluator trips on the dog, he/she has a chance.

I don't remember if Michael stated here how much experience he has had with dogs but most people are not going to waste time and money on a maybe.

I don't want to turn this into a discussion on pound animals but I will say this;

I believe you can get a great companion pet from the pound/shelter/rescue whatever you want to call it. Hell, I even believe those animals have a tendency to love you more (I know I know, but I believe it anyway). The fact of the matter still remains in MY situation asking a dog to be a fighter but only when needed is a big responsibility to the dog and the owner.

Basically you're telling the dog I want you to bite but only at the right time. I don't believe all dogs are cut out for this and to be irresponsible and try to save a few dollars and risk an innocent/s safety in doing so is just ignorant. Again you can get a great dog/animal from a pound but at the end of the day your knowledge of that animal is still limited. Owning a PPD has an inherited risk factor and are you willing to put even more risk into the situation for a few bucks? Worse yet are you willing to risk the safety of some small child?

If you answered "yes" to any of the above you should not own a PPD!
