I agree, there are no books on pedigrees........the AKC and SV publish stuff, schutzhund organizations also publish stuff. But the best place to find info is at shows and club meetings..........
There are a few members here that have a vast quantity of bloodline information stored in their heads. Honestly I just don't know how they remember so many details.......I am at awe!
Decide what you are interested in - hearding, shutzhund, conformation and join the club..........

Welcome back!
The Monks of New Skete have a book called "How to be Your Dog's Best Friend". In it they do a fair job of explaining how to read a pedigree but they don't offer specific lines. Other than that, I suggest you go to a show or find a club where you can pick someone's brain. If you are looking for a specific line, Google it. Sometimes you can find a wealth of info by accident.
Good luck,
Deb

thank you for your post. I'm currently looking for a Schutzhund club around my area. I would love to just go watch one day. I have also heard great things about the Monks of New Skeet.
Mystere,
I didn't mean I'm completely leaving the board, I just meant I wasn't going to post on that topic anymore. I was finished defending myself. I understood what everyone was saying, but opinions are just that. Instead of going back and forth going nowhere, I decided to n/m my posts so the debating on my dog would cease. I am not leaving the board because I learn too much from many of you (I'm not new to the board, as you can see when I joined, I was just new to posting). I hope you can understand. I just can't stand confrontation on the internet, because you can interpret things is sooo many ways.
Thanks again for all of the suggestions!
