I have never replied to two posts on the same day before ( See " When to start training" ) as I dont regard myself as a definitive expert but I posed a similar question myself back in August under the headline " Separation Anxiety"

I received some good advice from those people who took the time to reply.

It may be worth taking a look if it's still up.

Stop this behaviour and let him know this is your job. I had a rescue I boundry trained to our yard. I left town and my family was in charge, she would get out and would chose one of them and proceed to herd them to thier yard, then nip them on the but  to stay there (correcting them for leaving), then she would go get he next child and do the same thing until they were all  in thier own yards.  I laughed, but my neighbors did not see the humor!   I know I should not have laughed, but I understood what she was doing, after all they are herders that will protect the flock.
The kids cold be getting him excited and he just wants to play to, you just have to stop the mouthing. Maybe they can throw a ball for him, or play a little soccer with him. Constructive games so he can learn the other kids are not a threat and can be fun.

Well my dog loves my kids they are 9 and 7 so are their friends,I have corrected him but your right he might just want to play, but I should be able to control this in some way.I know they herd as well. This is my 3rd shepherd and never had this problem before. When I let him loose in the yard with them after a while he does calm down a little,i would just like it to be faster.i was on another site and people have recommended Ivan balabanov DVD's but I dont have that kind of money right now,and I would not even know if that works.I just dont want a kid to get hurt
