Jenni...

do you work with this man? and does your hubby or BF attend training with you?

No, I don't live in his area. My point, which seems to be missed, is that a few splices are by no means an indicator that he is like this 24/7 and only uses that language. I'm quite sure, if he was a vile person, that he would not have the following he does, and as far as language and respect, I don't disagree, but let's face it...do you see the white collar execs standing alone on a SchH field? No, it's an arena for a wide, um, variety, lol and I don't think the manner in which he speaks to anyone (women included) is nearly as demeaning as some of the creeps I've tried to get to work my dogs who just wanted to sleep with me, to be quite honest.

As far as my husband/bf...I don't typically consult with others on matters such as who I will train my dogs with. I will train with whoever is best with my dogs. He can deal with it or not.

LMAO! To ask if the ladies' husbands or boyfriends are ever at training... cracks me up! I can only speak for myself.... as I am not behind closed doors with the others when they leave training.... I have been with Steve since day one when he came to MD... I had a very significant role in him deciding to move here permanantly. I have run our club with and without help for over 5 yrs, and am the VP of our current WDA club. Steve is the president and TD. I can assure you, my husband knows Steve very well. Steve has stayed at our house on many occasions, shared meals and many football games on the TV with us. My son, who is currently 9yrs old has adored him since day one, and Steve adores him just as much. He loooves to get aa bunch of kid tattoos and plaster them all over his arms and legs like Mr. Steve... he calls him "mini me" and it makes me smile. My husband has MUCH respect for me, and knows that if I ever felt like I was personally being insulted, I would immediately rectify the situation, and if I could not, I would ask for assistance. My husband also knows that the ramifications of anyone taking it upon themselves to intefere in an issue that I had, without being asked for help would be most unpleasant. I would also be very willing to bet that my dear hubby would want Steve with me in ANY type of bad situation, if he could not be there himself. ...but.. that's just me... Theresa Wolfe

I have to laugh, I wonder how many inquiries Steve has had for training since this
This is one of the best "commercials" he could have ever hoped to have.

To be fair to Steve, since this video is being bandied about on boards,
why not spend the same amount of time splicing together the parts where
he encourages his clients/club members etc? Helps kids with dogs?
How about some footage of him on the sidelines showing support for
his clients/club members trialling their dogs?

How about the hours of work he puts in getting dogs to be
successful after others have f*cked them up?

Naaah, that would be boring.

Better to show him in the heat of the moment

Some of you wanting to "rescue" these "poor women"
who are being verbally abused (and the men), should perhaps
give them more credit. If they really felt he was so hateful and nasty,
why would they go the distances they do to train with him?

Cool Beans, like I said I didnt make the video or even know who these people are, just kept it up for a day, to continue a discussion of something most people dont encounter at training, on a different board.

No biggie to me really, either way..to each his own...

The helper work looks good to me...

But if this is OK and normal behavior and no one has a problem with it, who cares if it is posted online then, whats the big deal why is everyone's panties in a bunch about it?

Workingdogz, Isn't it obvious? Our videographer is no longer trainingwith us.. ;-) Theresa

Have you trained with anyone thats accomplished anything?
Seriously? It's pretty evident you have never trained with guys like
Dean Calderon, Gary Hanrahan, T Floyd, Lance Collins, Doug Deacon etc etc.
They all yell at handlers too. And they even cuss sometimes! Oh the horrors!

It's the shock value of it, it makes people pay attention!

If it means the helper doesn't get bit because of a slack leash or a
handler "zoned out", then what works is what works!

Maybe you should contact some drill Sgt's etc too, they should perhaps
lighten up a little and watch their language too

Now, let's all join hands and sing campfire songs.

Sheesh, I would hope the videographer remembers the toes
they stepped on today,
they may well be attached to the ass
they will need to kiss tomorrow

Love that saying, will have to add it to my list. ;-)

"I do not know anyone involved, and did not make the video, just posted it for a day, to continue a discussion about it."

So who's the tool?

Some other places you might want to avoid so that your meat curtains don't get bruised include virtually any type of military training...the more elite the force, the more "abusive" the training is likely to be...and, of course, skydiving drop zones.

"For the ladies that do train with him, are your husbands or boyfriends present at training, if so, how do they like it? most MEN I know would not allow someone to speak to their woman like that..."  ROTFLMAO!  Really?!?!?!

To ensure my boyfriend understood, he came out and watched, all three phases!  His reaction: "Wow!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"   He felt for Steve!  To train X amount of dogs is one thing.  Add the handlers in there, another. Now let's add multiple dogs with one handler and switching mental gears; takes true talent.  It's a wonder we haven't driven Steve completely nuts!

I invite all of you to come and train with one of the best.  If not, well, good luck to you!
