Dear all

I am having a look - prompted by several emails - at the Renal Dysplasia test offered by Dogenes and would be extremely interested in the views of those here, both of that test, and the one Dogenes offers for DM.

This is for an article - possibly for Dogs Today, or perhaps just for my blog.

If you'd prefer to contact me privately, my email address is jem[at]pedigreedogsexposed.com

IN THE CIRCUMSTANCES,  THAT THE LINK JUST SAYS NO PAGE EXISTS   'BUT "PEDIGREEDOGSEXPOSED" IS AVAILABLE'  IS JUST FUNNEEE !    Reckon some time machine has taken us back three years or so ?  [Typical JH -
can't even get that completely right, can you ?.]

Should work OK now... Had edited it earlier, just not the html bit (not quite got the hang of the protocol..).

Do you have any views on this issue, Linda?

Not that I would care to share with you.

I would welcome another DM test and another researcher. I dont care who finds the correct gene, even if it is a for profit group. I could care less who finds it, so long as the RIGHT gene is found for GSDM!

For anyone who does not know - Jemima Harrison is not a 'researcher', she is a sensationalist journalist;  IMO anything
said to her on or off here should be said in that knowledge, and with great care.   Linda.

So far as I am aware, DogGenes don't offer a test for DM, they announced that they 'might' have found a gene some while back, and asked for samples for research. Heard nothing else about it. No updates, no idea if anyone sent samples or participated in the research etc. So don't even know if it is ongoing. As Marj says, it would be great if anyone could make a real breakthrough with DM.

Don't know about the JRD test.

Have to laugh at your reply to this Hundmutter!!!!!!!!!!!Jemmima may i suggest you visit these Groups on Facebook, join n share your views on THEIR BREEDING PRACTICES,coz they aint got any.Ask relevant questions such as ....are the parents health screened for genetic inherited diseases n see wot answers or insults u get from them. These are the ppl.u should be making programs about for TV coverage instead of the sensationalistic programs re.SHOW DOGS n their owners who in fact are the ones doing ALL of these screening tests for their breeds.......1)STUD (DOGS)UK.STUD DOGS NORTH EAST,STUD MALES,BREEDING BITCHES N BREEDING ADVICE,FREE PETS AND SALE EAST MIDLANDS.These are groups i have joined n been banned from recently for voicing my opinions /advice.These ppl.believe that their dogs are healthy just because they look healthy n that will mean any puppies produced will also be healthy n we all know that aint the way the cookie crumbles.Come on ,u want all dogs etc.2 be bred healthily so how about producing a program on PUPPY FARMERS/BACK YARD BREEDERS  who only breed animals purely for the money.I look forward to seeing a program on this subject in due course?????????????Mrs.Carole-Anne Spelman RHEINMEISTER GSDS.

Hi Carole, glad to tickle you! That's a good idea you have there; wonder if Jemima will respond to it ?  I think she did
say in Dogs Today at one point she might tackle puppyfarming, but nowt came of it.  Might well be a more useful
thing for her to do with her 'talents' than trying to get a story out of genetic testing ?
