Four months old now and a little less cute, the other ear might be even more disconcerting.

This was Joss at the same age

both ears bent puppies ears go up and down till they are done teething, so a bent ear at a young age is not worrisome to me.

Joss at one year

Just a difference in lines, I suppose.  I'm accustomed to seeing them up for good at 4 weeks, and sometimes on a larger male, down again and up by 12 weeks.

Daryl, give it a rest. There is nothing wrong with that puppy's ears.

Marj, one day your circumstances may change and it will be the right time for another dog. Many of  us say - this is it and then get another dog in time.  Maybe you've already had all the bad luck with dogs you're going to ever have?

Like I care, be defensive.  I'm only jealous, wanting to steal Marjorie's heart for myself.

Whatever, Daryl.

Marjorie, on the other side of the coin, I don't see how on Earth you could possibly have worse "luck" or whatever than you already have. What are the odds?! I am not into debating show/working lines or even worse, Am. vs. Euro, but honestly, as someone who has had more than a couple handfuls of dogs in the past decade or so (admittedly all European working lines), I can honestly tell you that I have had NOT ONE SERIOUS HEALTH ISSUE with my German Shepherds. Perhaps a different "type" would be a good place to start to ease you back into the GSD world. There are working line dogs with very nice structure, too. Hey, I think my own V rated bitch is pretty nice; show people like her as well. In fact, a lady who was into GSDs back in the day before they were trainwrecks (she showed dogs at Westminster, and still breeds other breeds that make it that far) chose one of her grandpups for her first "new" GSD after a many year hiatus. She'd just had it with the health and structure issues and was missing them, but not wanting to deal with all that again. Mine certainly isn't the only working line dog out there with fantastic structure who also has great health. If you're not ready to go with a totally different line, what about a Ger. show/working cross?

Just tossing out ideas. Feel free to flame me, folks. :-)

Uh, my ASL is not a trainwreck Jenni.

Oooh, that took some effort to twist and contort to take on that meaning, Blitzen. Sorry to make you work so hard.
