I am helping Marjorie by putting together a spreadsheet so she can easily get to the information.  I have a few holes.  Can everyone who is volunteering for this PM me some information?  This is the only information I need, as Marjorie has already sent me the rest.

Your Post Name
Your First Name
Your Last Name (if willing)
Contact information outside of PDB.  This can be email or whatever.  This is for a backup plan.  If needed, you can set up a yahoo email address just for this effort.
If you are a rescue organization and if you have a 501c3

Thanks.

Side note.

Physical addresses I do not want.  I am very big on privacy and (IMHO) that information is to only be provided when we ask and you accept for specific help.

Also, for any provided phone numbers, I am working on masking those so that only Marjorie or I can see them, incase the spreadsheet winds up where it should not be.

I think that forming this as a 501c3 is the correct way to go.
It will allow for pulling much quicker when a dog is up against the gun (or needle).
This way you don't have to track down a rescue each time one of these situations comes up to get them to send the necessary paperwork to pull.
That can be difficult because people have jobs, families, etc. When one of these situations goes bad there will be a lot of finger pointing and unproductive banter that does no one any good, most importantly the dogs.
The 501c3 can be formed with exactly what you have in mind Marjorie, which is the facilitation of helping other recues and getting dogs in dire need in to rescues. You don't have to turn in to a rescue yourself.
The process of forming a 501c3 isn't that bad. You (whoever is going to be the main person) will need to register in your state. Each state varies on how to do this and what they want. Here in Illinois for our rescue I had to form a corporation. It wasn't that difficult. I wrote the articles of incorporation and the bylaws. Once you have what your state requires you then apply with the IRS. The IRS sends you a letter that allows you to be a probationary 501c3 for 2-3 years. If you send in your tax info correctly and on time they send you a non-profit determination letter and you are an official 501c3.
If anyone has questions feel free to pm me. I may not get back to you until tonight or tomorrow. Very busy at work.

It takes a long time ot get a 501c3, and it needs BOD and BOD insurance. It is quicker to get a charitable status organization. i can always go for a 501 c3. At this point, no one has volunteered to be tranpsort ccordinator oret transporters and without that, a 501 c3 is useless.

Marjorie-was Cranberry euthanized? My computer is on the fritz, that will break my heart if that was her destiny,I will kick in a few bucks here and there, And, yes, I do breed my dogs and I will kick in a generous donation from every litter I have.( I don't have too many). It would be nice if everyone that breeds and makes money from German Shepherds would kick in and help a dog. I know some breeders won't take their own dogs back, they come up with the lame excuse they have no room at this time. Wouldn't it be wonderful if EVERY breeder, took their own dogs back?Do You Know where your puppies are?
