Krazy Bout K9s

Yes there are usually 20 to at least 40+ German Shepherds and Belgian Malinois in the California shelters weekly...Upon occasion I have taken 8 at a time, when transporters were coming up this way. Alot are going to the Washington Rescues also. We need more western rescues also. I "think" the Colorado rescue takes some also. There is a Las Vegas GSD rescue, but they are always filled with LOTS of GSD's in the Vegas area. Marjorie I think there is a Rescue Me website that has a listing of all the states and rescues. I will try to find it for you.

If you think there is a need for a separate website, for more permanent viewing of dogs available and buttons for donations, etc.  I would be happy to build the website and help maintain it (can also give others editor abilities with a site too.)
A website can have links back here to PDB, especially for a rescue forum if we get one :)

If the PDB would house the forum here, I think, again, JMHO, this would be the ideal place, as there are so many GSD people here, PMing is easy and contacts handy. If they cannot do it or choose not to do it, elsewhere would be far betterr than no where, but I think we would lose the edge. Appreciate the offer- lets see what PDB comes up with.. It just seems a logical place, to me..

I think it might make it easier if rescues could identify themselves, in their signatures.  It would make it easier to reach out to them for their help or to see if they have room to take one facing euthanasia. All too often a plea only comes the day the dog is to be euthanized for space, so it is of utmost importance to  have quick access to those on the board affiliated with rescues. Right now, I have no idea who is or is not affilated with rescue, and that could make the difference between life and death. With pending same day euthanasia, time is of the essence and every second counts. If each of us could become familiar with those affiliated with specific rescues, it would certainly make it easier to save a dog, when under the gun.

Marjorie,
I am in the Chicagoland area and I am 501c3 going on about 13 years now.
I always have a GSD or two, or more available and know where many more are.
Let me know what I can do.

CMills,
There is a GSD mix (maybe some Husky?) at the Estill County pound that will be put down tomorrow.
If you know anything about the pound at Estill, you know it is a horrible place.
If you can help, it would be much appreciated.
I have a group of friends down there (basically 4 or 5 ladies with hearts of gold) that do everything they can to get the dogs and cats out of there.
Without their help none of them would make it out alive.
PM me if you can help.
