just curious. guess you have made a few trips there.

I like to pay attention to folks with experience in most things GSD. one can learn a lot from those people.

I'm still in the learning stages, especially with the German dogs.

thanks,
Rik

never been there never even been close............would like to go one day though................

i had  GSD once, trying to find his CKC papers ,i can't seem to find them...........i would have liked to know his pedigree

he was an good dog............a bit skiitish and fearful but that could have been my fault too.i was 18 when i got him way too much dog for me at the time............nonetheless he very good with the family. i still miss him........he was my friend.

in any case i believe he could have been of canadian/american mixed with some german lines......i am not sure........gonna try to find his papers.Thinking

The talk by Walter Martin was fantastic.
It's what visiting  S V Judges should do on their judging assignments,
to help improve the level of knowledge of dogs that are behind the top producing bloodlines and their breeding influence.

For whatever reasons, inbreeding(2-2) was carried out by some then and  some of those breedings,
have proved their dominance for the betterment of the breed.Be it in improving ,temperamant, conformation or working qualities.

If inbreeding was carried out after a careful sturdy of the virtues and shortcomings in a particular dog,( Lets just say on Vegas Du Huat Mansad ,
as he is not linebred.) Would the breed not benifit from such a breeding just as those that were done earlier did.?

Walter Martin lived his dream, and the GSD world benifitted from it.

Wasn't it the Martin brothers who watered down SchH and created larger GSD's? Not trying to be a smart ass, but that was my understanding so not sure where the positives are coming from.

Eddy,  I asked what you meant when you referred to the shenanigans of the Martins.  You responded "...........look at the state of the GSD showline of germany...............don't u see it??"  I do not see the correlation between the question and your  answer.  You have not said what the shenanagens were.  Can you give at least two ?ecs

by eddyelevation on 02 March 2013 - 01:03

well i wasn't there.................can' really point exactly what went down................

in any case why u need so much proof for?

Hi Gusmanda,
I've not been to Germany so I've not seen the big dogs, my friends tell me some were big.
but they(the big dogs) contributed in their own way, to what we have today.
I don't want to start a debate, so please bear with me .
What were the others doing, while Wienerau and Arminius were flying high.?
Look at the bloodlines today, where are they coming from ?

The very fact that there are two families(Sh.& WK . lines),
I think It's best for them to go their own way,
until they both can point at the same dog and say
" yes that is a super dog".
Until such a day comes my friends, we just have to live with it.
